Re: The Dead Character Thread
Corri Cinderford, tailor and designer, believing herself to be the goddess of the moon, passed away from a heart attack nearly a week ago.
I'll miss her, I had some projects and ideas that I could still have done with her character, but it was time for her to go. Many of her friends had died before, and she ended up taking on a responsibility that neither she, nor I as a player was able to do well. It was no longer fun to play her, and I was becoming increasingly uninterested in checking when her name lit up. *sigh*
It's kind of sad to me, the knowledge that for most of her lifespan, Corri was one of my favorite characters to play. Not bad for a character made well after I should have gone to bed, on an impulse, with a silly character concept.

After Allen Idoni's death, it only made sense that Corri would follow soon after.

So sorry about learning this. My chars always enjoyed seeing her around.

Karmen Ruthven.
It's been 4 IG days but even had I posted sooner it wouldn't have mattered since there was no one left to miss her. Spawning in Keystone she started out wanting nothing more than to help the Harlequin get off the ground. Falling in love first with Digby and Rosemary she was unsure where her heart would go. Plenty of memories kept her alive after Digby's death and the ever constant reminder of his control over her with the scar he carved into her shoulder in the shape of a crescent moon shaped D. Years later meeting Cecil Ruthven and saving his life they left Keystone for good and sailed the world until he fell to the sleeping sickness and died. Broken after that she sailed and grew more and more depressed until her will to live left completely. Docked to some town on Fu she never left again and made sure her keys were given away just before her death in hopes they would find her birds and care for them as she was unable to continue any longer.
First one on the list of cut backs. More will follow until the final story is ended.

Re: The Dead Character Thread
I might as well chip in.
Lindsey Vigil - A quiet man, easy to please. He was very much a simmer of mine, and worked nonstop as asked for decades until a friend died and he found it harder and harder to work and focus. He tried to work until he just gave up and let go.
The girl without a name a.k.a Sin (trans. "without") of terogtha. She found out what made her happy early on, working and helping. Her shtick was spending a year in each town and helping with the jobs no one else wanted to do like tool repairs and jobs by a radio. For free. For the Island. She loved the political movements and debates around her spawn time ( October and Justice made her think past propaganda) Unfortunately sometime after she went to Shai I lost interest in her. She was idle for quite some time.
Jackson Emery the First, King of Mysteria and King of the Owls. - The highlight of the list. Jackson was a gem to play. He made me happy to play and unless you met him there's no good way to describe him. From his troubles with Marian and Otto, to his interesting style of dress, to his constant accusing of his beloved friend falling asleep with other people, to his owl breeding hijinks, he was a devious but loveable lad. It wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the owls, that's what you're all waiting for! He was most famously known for talking to the owls. They all had their own distinct name and gender and personality (all ten he ever raised) and he loved them in ways that apparently to some bordered on obscene xD. He and his owl counterparts were very dramatic, but in the end I could not find it in me to play him anymore. Real life made it hard. He'll miss Mercury ("MERX!!!!!" "What Jackson?" "Nothing!*grin*") the most.. But his fellow townsfolk (Lou and Sarcodes you two were always brilliant to me) and all his many many friends will be dearly missed.

Re: The Dead Character Thread
Just reactivated my account and came by to remember my old characters. I was going a rough part of my real life and Cantr was a lovely little escape. I'm really sad that I had to stop playing because I had big plans for all of them. Here I am again, but with only one character.
Onyx Zaglowego - My favorite. I wanted her walk, talk and look like a pirate and drink bourbon all day. No pillaging, because that would require too much work. I never got this far, instead she slept all day, inserted herself in the middle of all the conversations and left crowbars in random places.
Garnet - Traveling ostrich-whisperer.
Moon Stone - potato farmer.

Re: The Dead Character Thread
I am eagerly awaiting a player or two to post here, given it's been just over 4 days. I feel like an addict waiting for a hit - that hit being the reveal of who you are!
If you recently unsubbed or at least killed off some characters who were highly influential in a certain region, but perhaps don't want to reveal their deaths just yet on the public forum... then please at least PM me! I was always curious who you were.
Thanks!

Re: The Dead Character Thread
Somewhat related: I wonder how many of my dead characters have landmarks. I remember 4, possibly 5 but I might be forgetting something, or may not have seen them all.

Erin of Scarab Haunt. Lost her will to live and just walked off without looking back until the animals eventually killed her.
Just another in the list with more to follow shortly.

You and someone else were who I was wondering about actually. Through reading your posts and the other player's, it was actually quite evident the whole time. Suffice to say I didn't expect you to have played him!
All I can say is, thank you so much for the contribution to made to the gameworld. It is without doubt one of the most influential, interesting and best contributions to date. I hope that it lasts for generations, honestly.
