I know people who make a common practice of 'jamming' their own machines when they have prisoners.

This discussion probably should be moved to another section...

But I think that sabotage should be possible... and why not under the system it is at the moment in Cantr?

Sabotage is a great tool... annoying, yes, but, if not done solely for that purpose, or even if it is done just to annoy ( :) ) there's no reason to stop it

Ok... so the method of sabotage is nothing like RL, but why should it be?

I would also like to see sabotage implemented in the game...but I don't like people who exploit weak game structures for their own benifit.
This is just another one of those examples of people who play the game to win...

There is no "win" to this game, unless it's in the sense that certain people have created chars that will not be forgotten, but if there was, you wouldn't play to loose, now would you?

That's the whole point. Since you can't win this game there is no point in trying to maximize your efficiency and bend the rules, like with the machine jamming projects, in order to gain a leverage.

My characters sometimes makes mistakes because they don't know better, or chose alternatives that I as a player know that they will not benifit from.
Machine jamming and the anti-drag trick and other things are just ways for the player to win...they aren't realistic for the character to do.

You don't understand, I maximize my efficiency in RL constantly, it's not a decision I make, it's the way I am, to do anything differently playing Cantr or a even game of checkers is against my nature. Plus, I think the things you are complaining about are very realistic for the chars to do, only an idiot stands around without taking any self preservation measures in RL or in a game. Cantr is a society simulation, way I see it the goals in it are the same as in RL, to survive and prosper.

Guys, please continue this discussion in General discussion, and put a link from this in the GS version so people will have the background of the debate. (I need to do something else atm).

Regarding the particular project in question:
No materials were added, so it can be cancelled by chars in game, and the PD has looked into who did it.

To be clear: jamming machines, dropping notebombs, or using building projects to created permanent messages are not allowed. (But you're of course still welcome to argue about these topics ;) )

Whoops sorry that was my chars fault

Well...no harm done really.
Eventually a second smelter was on the list anyway, this was just an inconvenient change of timing.
No need to be sorry, just hope your travels are safe. (Don't tell me though....that would be a CR)
I think, therefore I think I am, I think
