See, that's another problem I have with the way the new system is, most often in RL the winning side isn't the one that is the least tired, the winning side is normally the side that pushes themselves the hardest, this applies to sports, fights, and anything else an adrenaline rush can come into play in.

Though it does look like damage is worse than linear in tiredness (on some range, at least)...at what looks like under 40% tiredness and no damage I did 7 damage to a buffalo with a longbow.

Actually, buffalo have some armor...so they might be taking 11-ish damage - armor, which would be arround 50% effectiveness.

That is just the thing, I incorporated tiredness, I used two characters who were about the same tiredness then attacked the same type of animals and the one with the weaker weapon did more and the steel weapons did crap.

Note there are a few factors that have to be considered here to determine damage;

A. Random damage that was introduced about 6 months ago I believe has now been introduced to animals as they were to attacking characters.

B. Random skill levels in combat and huntings skills.

C. How tired is your character.

D. How hurt, wounded, injured, ect... is your character, in other words how much damage do they have.

That is how damage is determined in game now and can no longer be determined by a simple mathetical equations to deteremine the winner of fights.

Winners will now be determined by their skill level in certain skills (hidden), their tiredeness, damage levels and random damage (which is based on a random diviation depending on the weapon or shield which in other words cannot be caculated).

Steel weapons are still the best but like in real life there is always that possibility for someone with a bone knife can kill someone with a steel sabre based on a number of reasons as we now have above.

I'm in no position to know, but it's possible the inevitable tuning is taking place (nothing runs perfectly first time)

It has been for a couple days now.

[quote="Jos Elkink]
The weapons did not change, but the ability to use them properly has become dependent on more factors, resulting in an overal reduction on average. I now (few minutes ago) uploaded some changes that simply reduce this limiting effect, so weapons are not back up to what they used to, but they're by far not reduced as much anymore, and you'll discover later that the changes are not so bad.[/quote]

What do you mean to say with that last quote, Jerry? :)

He meant that you made it so that the reduction was not nearly as large as it was before. Ilona thought that it was messing up and returning to the old combat system, and Jerry showed that you had just changed it back.

####-2: You see [edit] hurt [edit] using a crossbow.

####-2: You say: "Stealing is bad and now you die."

####-2: You hurt [edit] using a longbow, who loses 18 percent strength.

I've obscured names, dates and places to protect the CR. Only the people in the event should now be able to place it.

Damage isn't working.

After being shot with a long bow for 18% and a crossbow that supposedly didn't miss, the target is still smiling, but his decsription appears weak, and his health has supposedly progressed 0.1897. 0.0097 from a crossbow? After firing it, the crossbow shooter had 0.15 tiredness.

What can we do o help this get sorted out?

Perhaps it had something to do with the fact he just got shot with a crossbow....?

(couldn't help myself there)

What is it you're getting at? Were you expecting him to die, not sure what your question is about

Well, with revalation the crossbow missed, it is confusing on why he appears weak. Unless we only have around 25-30% health, why would he appear weak when he's only lost 18%.

The health bar seems to be the only thing that is functioning to show health. If we aren't going to use the smileys or the TEXT description, why retain them?
