A darter OOC is a class of ship belonging to the Ath'an Miere of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time universe.

Any more, you can find out yourself...

This has been discussed many times over the past few years

I would hasten to add that there is nothing magical about the ships in the series. They're regular ships, though I think they look a little more oriental and sleek than the galleon, sloop, etc.

I like the names IC. They're fun and evocative.

The only problem with it is that you don't have a clue about how they are...since I find the whole idea of "trial and error" when it comes to ship building ridiculous.

They're not magical, and perfectly realistic. They're just very well made sailing ships of varying sizes and capacities.

One thing I do want to know, though I'll probably never find out, is whether the size and capacities bear any relation to what they should be.

West: I wonder what the nearest equivalent to a Seanchan greatship would be in cantr?

It would have been easier for me if they were Pinnaces, Barques and Fluyts... But I suppose I've got used to them now...
