Powergaming in real life is called success

You seem almost unreal...a true product of capitalism. I can just see you sitting in front of your computer with a business suit on, cursing the fact that the eighties with it's hyper greed is over.

Cantr isn't a game where you play to win. I have a lot of character who have passed up big chances to become rich and powerful, because like IRL a lot of people aren't motivated by such things...do you have any characters not striving for econimical or political dominance?

I agree. But I would prefer if Jos & Co made it official...because releasing the information here will only effect the veterans who are registered here.

Was this in any way unclear? None of you are reading what I wrote...just what you think I wrote.

Yes. I know about the whole bugs thing. I am not advocating exploiting bugs. I'm advocating doing things efficiently, with understanding of what your actions mean. THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG. I never said anything about using my motivations, which neither of you know anyway, IC. Or any of the other things you seem to believe I said.

You just don't seem to get the whole life thing. There are no points for inefficiency, in cantr or in life.

There are no points for efficiency either. We live and then we die...it doesn't matter if you are president of the planet earth or a homeless drunk. Being efficient all the time would be a terribly boring way to spend my life...
If you are in some way trying to come off as knowing the purpose of life and having it revolve around working hard and earning money I'm going to take great pride in living a life without purpose.

Well...let's see...Huh...yes. Three, I would say. Two of whom have...

It is a bit funny that they end up having quite a lot of power, running a business etc. anyway. You seem to be stuck in "success" mode :P

My powergaming comment...I don't mean you should 'spawn-camp' reality (it might work, but I consider it despicable too.)...but I definitely do mean that if you have goals planning, ability to predict outcomes, and using whatever techniques apply will give you the best chance to get there.

Yes, but in an RPG you shouldn't apply your goals and OOC motivations on your characters. Well, I guess you can, but it would take away a lot of the point with an RPG. If given 15 characters it seems a bit boring to strive for power with all of them...but that is of course just my view.

I think all of you know what follows, but just in case you don;t...

Exploiting ANY known bugs will generally be punished.

Tell me, industrialist? What do you consider as the point of life? What is your main aim in life?

OT debate continued on the off-topic forum: here

What I said applies to any type of goals, I would think. You just need to know what they are, which may be hard.

In response to what Jos posted on another topic...I think 'getting an idea' of how these things work is just the same as working out the formulas...except that it's a little less precise, and it's even harder to keep IC.

Also, as I posted earlier...if we aren't supposed to predict anything, don't give us information at all. Labelling it as N days to build something is pointless if it isn't remotely true...
