Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
The character has a history of drinking too much even back when drunkenness wasn't implemented yet. One time she came outside in a kimono tied off like a bathrobe and somebody asked her is everything alright. There was no hidden agenda but if you have paid any attention recently, the high responsibility jobs posted each have a clause that forbids the person from performing their duties while intoxicated. People who can't control their drinking shouldn't drink at all, especially emotional drinkers.

Oh my god that's great haha. Glad to see now we have something more tangible to represent the impact of drinking in excess.
I also really appreciate the high responsibility jobs requiring sobriety. I hope more people - especially depressed characters - use alcohol as a vice and get addicted to it. Addiction will drive some amazing mechanics; especially around role play, trade/economics, and more... Like people going broke to pay for their booze addiction. Consumables are critical for driving the economy I think.

Hello, I thought that's pretty clear, but I'll explain again.
When you see a bug, then the best way to have it fixed is to report it using the support form or general support forum.
Hiding the bug reports in threads which are rarely read by someone who can fix them is a bad idea.
The mailboxes worked correctly for a long time, but they got broken during the reorganization of the locks system. Now they are fixed again.

It wasn't a bug report. I genuinely thought how it is working is how staff meant for it to work, on account of hearing months ago it was fixed and then building one to find out it didn't function how I thought it should. Since I heard "fixed" but couldn't find anywhere /how/ it was fixed, I assumed how it was functioning was how it was meant to.
Anyways I'm sorry. Tl;Dr I didn't think it was broken just a weird cantrism.

When your richest character is also the dumbest one.
I spawned this dude just to goof around, he even can't bloody speak properly, and what? He has found soooo many stuff on his journeys. He is way richer than any other of my chars. The sad thing is that he has no idea what to do with those stuff and he doesn't even know which stuff is really valuable (he is the most happy of having hay for his steed, and bananas, because he likes them). I do not even enjoy playing him. I am just hoping to find someone he will be able to give this stuff to and who will make a good use out of it. Problem is that no one really wants to talk with him, because people think he is retarded and no one even suspects how bloody rich he is.

“Man sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. He is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

My richest character was similar; incredibly stupid and stubborn. Led to his death. Rightly so, too!

My English level.
And when I just realize what a character said after reading it four or five times (and it's already too late to react to it.)
Yep, it doesn't really make sense to play an intelligent character if you are going to sound stupid answering something different of what you are being asked every time...

If it makes you feel better, I think your English is much better than that of some people from my college!

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
Haha...
It's much better than when I started playing cantr, and it became much better since I moved to my husband's and I only speak English... but it's still annoying, mostly with things like today, when character X says something, my char answers... X, my char... and as X takes some time, I re-read the first one and it's a big WTF, that's not what I read the first time! And it became worse when I read it again, after, and it was nothing like the first time, not like the second, but something totally different.
As I said, no intelligent English characters for me. It's what I like about my Spanish in English lands, that she can mistake words, expressions and misunderstand anything that can easily blame the language...
But the others?

What you're describing with your English character is how I feel playing my Spanish character. At least now she's in a zone where I don't know the main language spoken so I'm free to make all the mistakes I want and nobody has to know.

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
It annoys me when I find out shit about one of my characters with an unrelated character and can't react to it. It has happened several times.
Edit: My day is essentially ruined. I wish I could have just refrained from chocking Cantr all week. Even if nothing happens, I will have to live in a constant level of uncertainty. Maybe I'm taking this too personally but if you've invested several real life years in something and then someone comes and goes you can choose to continue to play the game in a way that goes against everything you stand for or your character will get killed, what sort of a choice is that? Even if I consider some characters whackjobs I won't go policing how they should live their lives, neither do my characters.

We all play with our own OOC influences on our characters. Is it not possible to play yours with your OOC influence - excluding the knowledge you obtained from another character?
I don't know. Sounds like a shitty situation and I'm sorry to hear it's causing stress. At the end of the day, I guess you just have to be mentally prepared for this; characters are mortal after all.

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
I'm assuming that I know what character you're talking about. And I can understand why it's bringing you so much anxiety. But like Matt said, the reality of this game is that characters can die. And now that you have that OOC knowledge of something happening, it must be driving you nuts. Especially with everything your character in particular has accomplished, it might seem crazy to imagine their story ever ending at all. But of course, the story of Cantr must go on, and your character may or may not walk out of this particular chapter. Stay true to the character, and try your best to resign them to their fate. The sooner you accept that things will be the way that they will, then the better you will feel if their story indeed comes to an end.
Remember, though, the story isn't over yet!

I wouldn't have as many issues if my other character didn't constantly hear stuff about it.
