Thanks for that. I wonder if Eve, Reese and Ritz are still going okay. It'd be very interesting to see how this affected their lives. I know Ritz (or Reese?) wanted to be a guard of sorts, so maybe this propelled him into wanting to seek out bad people...

I decided to unsub 4 days ago, and I thought I'd post a list of characters. I had ceased feeling creative energy or fun for the game and I felt it best to just end the stories. I really enjoyed Cantr for a long time, but the last few months have been a struggle to find desire to really play. I decided it wasn't fair to myself and all of you if I wasn't really enjoying the game, and decided to quit cold turkey.

Here were my characters at the time of unsub:

Older characters (70+):
Philis James - She inherited leadership of PDW at the young age of 25. She evolved from an eccentric girl into an eccentric "aunty". She was pretty depressed by the end as she watched her town fall apart. She was never quite the same after Jessica died. She was my hardest to give up, but the slow death of her town really destroyed her spirit. She witnessed far more death than any character should, and was second only to my dead character Mykola to how deeply it affected her.

Peter Paulmary - Ah - my new age hippy who loved Mother Cantr and his love-flower Renata. He has returned to Mother Cantr.

Kermit Rosenbury - My big, strong teddy bear. He was in love with his family and found happiness after a long sad life of rejection and loss.

Carlena Aliprandi - Strong-willed woman - I spawned her as an Italian. And she was fiery. Never got over the betrayal of her lover Tom, who left her for her friend. I sent her on a journey to find herself, but that failed. She returned home broken and depressed. Poor woman never really got past the knife in her back, but she did love her town even when she didn't show it.

Allen Idoni - My weird little albino. He fell into a friendship with the moon goddess and cared for her very deeply, even while in his other romances.

Jonas Rivers - Spawned in a dead place with aggressive animals, he had to grow up fast. He never fancied himself a leader but was thrust into the leadership from time-to-time. He loved his town and his island, despite its flaws.

Dedrick Rapp - My scurvy knave. Started life off as a salvager who couldn't quite cross the pirate line. Stole his boat and rigged it with stolen stuff. But after a time, he met a good-hearted woman and became good. He took his stolen booty and his now rigged ship and sailed to all sorts of places, trading goods and tipping his ridiculous hat.

Herman Brown - Spawned with broken vocal cords. He could speak but it caused excruciating pain and bleeding. He found medicine for a time that helped, but it stopped being effective. He felt isolated from everyone being unable to communicate. He eventually took a boat and a whole bunch of abanadoned goods out to the boonies, where he didn't find anyone, and he died.

Lou Hambledon - Gentle, big-hearted and loved his town. I never really developed him as much as I wanted. He was kind of vanilla.

Younger ones:

Namon Vori - Spawned as inspired by the "Nemesis" episode of Star Trek Voyager. Namon was named after one of the simulations in the Vori group. He spoke in synonyms, his language never really conforming to the norm. He was proud of his horse, dressed in military-style clothing and had great love for the silent wisp Angel, who he cared for quite deeply. He had no idea he would die on her, leaving her widowed a second time. But he is now nullified and has found his way to the Here-After.

Dark Soul / Caligo - From the moment he spawned, he realized he wanted to serve darkness. He spawned in a place that he could not live (due to OOC concerns), so I gave him the backstory of serving a supernatural mistress that wanted him to disassemble and destroy as much as possible. He did a pretty good job of that, though I never quite got him to the level of resource destruction that I desired for him.

Arc Ingus - A Japanese RPG character spawned in Cantr, he was perpetually excited about everything, and quite confused by many things as well. He didn't understand the concept of languages, and thought Polish speakers were mages.

Kymon Sykora - Cursed with severe allergies, exema and social withdrawl, this poor guy really never got to live much.

Tyrone Rexus - My inner city graffiti artist. He painted a few surprise pieces but never did as much as I had planned.

Henricus Sauveterre - Spawned large and strong, he intended to setup a kingdom of houses. That never happened. He fell in love with a Polish woman named Morra and died a pauper.

Thanks for playing hyrle. You had some interesting characters and created some interesting conflicts for some of mine. Other times you helped mine get a head start.

I knew a lot of yours but these ones, lol jeez.

Phillis was the coolest ever. She was adored by Abigail, who only knew her briefly and whom she helped purchase the things needed to make a vehicle to fulfil the little travelling trio's needs. This surprised me.

Herman was unintentionally the reason one of my characters started messing around with herbs and medicines and might have a slight addiction now, so thanks haha.

And Dark Soul you let me waste a sledgehammer on you give it back uuuuuggghh. Now it's just rotting there much to the chagrin of likely my character and your character's spirit!!!!

My chars had different memories with many from this list, some will be missed. It is a bit strange to remember we can spawn and kill our own characters while we can't control their manners so well. I feel like they could have different choices if they were totally independent from us, some recent deaths made me think of this .
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

Incredible, hyrle. You're exactly the kind of player I'm going to really miss. I had one of my characters interact with two of yours - one of yours wanted to kill mine, the other wanted to trade (well, until they heard some things about them). I like how you really played true to the perspective of the characters and didn't let OOC knowledge change your opinion of characters you interacted with.

On that front, you've made one of my character's lives so much easier...

But you'll be sorely missed. I only lightly interacted with Phillis with a few different characters but really enjoyed her.

I only knew Arc ig, and not well since I almost never actually play my character there.

Sorry to see you go.

Re-reading the old threads, the other day, I got to miss some of my old chars. Probably you didn't know most of them, cause they are all Spanish and only May was in EZ, but...

I miss May Darka, how easy she was to RP. How weird she was. And how manipulative she could be...
I miss Slorien, I always miss Slorien. He was so challenging to play, so mean, so hated... So easy to hate, actually. And, despite of that, I think it was my best male character. I regret soooo much negleting him his last days...
And I miss Andrei. I miss the happy, loyal, hard-working Andrei, while the other "olders" were still alive. He still jumps in my mind with half of the newspawns and wants to adress them with his old "bienvenido, novato" (something like, "welcome, rookie"). Actually, I had to control a couple of characters to not do it... I noticed, while thinking about him, that my Seventh inherited a lot about him. His way to see live, to deal with people. And his love, almost compulsive obsession, with certain tool... :)

From Anony

Not my character but I have to mention Roy Connors. I adored this character and his backbone, standing up for things in the face of so much shit from those around him. He had all the things we love in a good character, including those little quirks that make someone so realistic. I'd really hoped the move would make him to feel happier. I, and my character especially, won't forget him. He was like a brother to mine, who would have done anything for him if he had only asked, and his loss was felt. It's been awhile, but to the player: I don't know why you made the call to end it, but I just thought you'd like to know, he's missed.

It's now been 4 days since Coventina died. It was mentioned on the radio so I guess most people know already. I just couldn't deal with all the hate that she was facing. It was pulling me down and for a long time, I only played her out of a sense of obligation. I was originally going to kill her off during the day 5000 festival but I chickened out back then. She had some good times with Travis after that, so I don't regret delaying her death, but I just didn't want to deal with all the bs anymore. I always thought I would quit if she ever died. I might still quit eventually because I don't have a similar connection to my existing characters, but some of them still have unfinished business that I would like to take care of. I haven't enjoyed playing in a while but maybe I'll get over it. I'm not going to spawn a replacement character this time.
