Yes. You know why people sleep?

Boredom.

Walk into a sleepy town and steal something, or attack someone. Boom. Suddenly everybody is instantly awake and active for the time it takes to deal with the threat.

If more people went around trying to kill other people, we'd have (ironically) more people actually playing the game.

Don't think I can agree. Those newspawn thieves I have encountered have just caused already awake people go after them. No impact on sleepers what so ever. And I think killings wouldn't really change a lot.. Probably cause some playing people to quit.

I think we need something better solution. Yeah sure you get bored if you are only person awake at certain time..

It would make life on short period of time but probably cause more harm on long term

I agree. I was about to leave but then the ones causing harm left the game and it became interesting to play again.

There are som many games out there where the purpose is to kill and be mean, go play those games instead.

Or - preferably - as well as playing Cantr. And just find a better way of creating something of interest in this game.

Yeah, if I want to destroy things I go on game where I can completely obliterate my enemy. Cantr is more like social sim than mass murderer game. Okay you can do dark things here too... Which probably irl might get you on mad house :P

There's actually many problems why people get bored.. I would say one is lack of patience or unrealistic wishes. I mean yeah building town is nice but I have seen so many quit after their town didn't grow...

I have a character that harms people quite often, but then again the people who die usually deserve it but then ragequit before healing while OOCing abuse at others. I guess some players just don't understand all their actions have consequences but then get upset when people react negatively to them. I just find it odd so many people demand others play and open ended game the way they do.

Its a shame that so many interesting people left as it so boring now.

A couple of my characters own so much that if someone robbed everything they owned, they would rather die than rebuild everything from scratch. But I have so many relatively new characters that in addition to my Finnish characters, there's only two left that I would be honestly upset if they died. The rest are disposable. I used to care about most of my characters, but I've killed off so many that I'm not as attached to the game as I used to be. It often takes me about 50 to 80 IG years before a character gets to such a point in life that I grow attached to them. It used to take less time that that, but a lot depends on the relationships.
