Channel/Aquaduct

Postby viktor » Sat Nov 13, 2004 3:20 pm

they have had aquaducts and channels since ancient times on earth, now that water has become a necessity in cantr (thirst meter and dirtyness meter) i think the invention of an aquaduct is urgent.
it would of course make water available to towns that do not already have water available but must be attached to a town with water, wether that town has it naturally or is connected to a source through it's own aquaduct, the aquaduct or channel would be a project/improvement like a road where you start at one end and pile on resources and use the proper tool(s) and build it, the amount of resources and time required would be figured out like it is for roads, by how much distance there is between the towns.
a channel would be as simple as using a shovel, you could line the channel with stone and make a support structure of wood if you wanted along it.
an aquaduct would defenitly require stone and wood, trowels, hammers and possibly shovels too.

or they could just be 2 different stages of the improovment, like our roads, though i am at a loss for how the 2 should have different effects.

good point, rain barrels could be built for that :), as for the desert, people die of thirst there all the time so sounds quite realistic.

Perhaps a water well could be implemented, which would work like some digging machine for water
