Whoa..

I think I really have become an addict to this game; this is the first game I used a calculator and math on. I had to calculate distances and supplies and things I need. So this is what it feels like to be an addict. I wish we had more minutes. :(

Cky, have you ever had it so bad to where you didn't even want to go to sleep because you are worried about your charrie. Last night I had to tear myself away and go to bed so my husband would stop saying I need help for my addiction and the whole ngiht I tossed and turned and had bad dreams that something was happen to my charrie.

Finally I couldn't take it anymore and I woke up and checked and everything was ok......I'm started to agree with my husband now. Cantr is literally taking over my life. I don't have time for anything else and it really scares me. I'm sorta happy we don't have more minutes cause if we did I would need serious help. I hope I can at least break away a little and start putting more time into other things or I will have to quit. :( I try not to be so addicted but I can't help it. The only way to help it is to leave Cantr.......forever. *begins to cry*

This is the best game I have ever seen before in my life and no way I will ever find one like it so I hope I won't have to leave. By the way my husband hates you Jos. He says "Why would somebody make a game that requires so much of your time" lol. I laugh at him because I know if he would take the time just to play for a little while he would be just as hooked as I am.

Well, that is enough ranting for one day.

Whoa, I am not married, I'm only 13. So I don't need to worry about putting my time into anything else, I only spend like 10 minutes on homework lol. Right when I get home I come to this game lol. My mom had to actully grab me and throw me off the computer so she could play a game. She's strong  Also you can't quit, I know one of your Characters and she's sweet. :) If she died I would be very sad, and I only I haven't even known her that long.

Oh boy I have to get in on this one. I have you all beat.
I just finished my will and Jos gets everything.

My wife is going to be very upset. lol

I can not step away from the computer and if my computer ever crashed I would probably end up in the news a few minutes after...

This is the best game that has ever been made and I will never quit!
I love it just to damn much.

ROLMFAO!!!

Damn Colonel. You make me feel a HOLE lot better. :D I would hate to quit, but it would be my last resort. I would at least try to cut down on my charries first.

Well...the fact that I sit here about 4-5 at night almost everyday should say a bit about my addiction. The problem is that it isn't exclusive to Cantr...I have couple of other internet games, pooled up with GTA: San Andreas...so I basically don't do anything anymore :D

I cut down drastically on the amount of time I play. Sure, it means a lot of my characters aren't as active, but as they get older they don't really need to be. When cantr started to take over my life it was a reality check. It may be the coolest thing EVER--just yesterday I was so happy because one of my boats found a new island and I couldn't explain to anyone here in the dorm why that was so COOL--but it IS just a game. Please don't forget that.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

You are right...I have no problems not playing if I have anything else to do. If I ever cross that border I will start to worry. As it is now it is more being a lazy ass who doesn't do anything that is my problem

I've been slipping...only logging in 2-5 times a day is kind of weak, with my schedule. I'll recover, though.

Oh my. And the whole design of the game is such that it should be possible to play it in, say, 10 minutes a day :) ... People were complaining about the slow pace of the game, but that is exactly because it is written for people who have an active life next to Cantr as well and want to play, like myself.

Of course, if you have 15 characters and they are all the centre of their town, you spend hours and hours playing. But it is not true, I think, that that is the only way the game is fun. I would always advice people to take less characters and have some of them live somewhat less important life. We need the 'common citizens' too, you know :) ...

It was also, as I mentioned often, basically the idea that people would spend much more time in their buildings, so that you would see the things happening that are related to your char and not everything else. But that hasn't worked out like that :) ... Now it takes a lot of time just to be standing on a town square and see what's going on.

Personally, I play about 10 chars, I think, and only 2 of them have really active positions in their somewhat larger towns. Others are somewhat less active, have a really quiet existence in a small village, or are all the time travelling or sailling, so that nothing much happens all the time. I like the sailors - you can leave them for a long time just going, and so once in a while they arrive in a town and they become among the most interesting chars to play.

I should add, though, that although I am not really addicted to playing, I'm quite addicted to running Cantr :D ... And spending much, much more than 10 minutes a day on that ;) ...

Note: Seeing that all your characters are working on something and if not, start them a new project, and making sure that they have enough food is NOT playing. That's only a small part of it. If someone thinks that all they can do in Cantr, I feel sorry for them. (But at least when they get bored and quit, we get all the resources they gathered.. )

I'm cutting back big time too, since basketball season is here.
4-5 of my charries are seriously inactive.. It's hard, but only a game.

The problem is that both the RP addicts and a bigish section of the non-RPers don't want to go inside. The addicts can't leave their audience and their heaps of personal interaction which is their entire reason for living. ( :? Seko...). Some of the non-RPing types just don't want entanglements, or won't even go to the trouble of communication enough to get a job. And of course, if you don't have a job you're just draining resources by going inside...

Oh my characters can stay alone inside, if they have a good reason for doing so (working on machines) but of course they will eventually get bored and lonely just like regular people. (And so do the ones around.) You're right about claiming (between lines though) that Cantr is not a stage where we perform to get famous. Being theatrical is something that I cannot avoid, but if some other people are doing great rp that has nothing to do with my characters, they do not go bouncing around pulling stupid stunts and shouting "look at me, I'm the greatest!" Most of the stuff happens silently, so only the loudest acts is what you see. So you play someone in Krif and possibly got a terrible rp poisoning.. Sorry if seeing a person that suffers from physical AND psychological weakness was too much.

I'm not addicted...

I don't get in fights with my S/O because he could be standing next to me yelling to get my attention and all I mumble is "Just one minute more... I've got to check so-and-so"

I don't stay up until 4am checking a character who has something really really really important going on and then only getting half an hour sleep before having to get up for work because I'm sooooo worried...

I don't try to stretch my last 5 minutes out so that I can check EVERY SINGLE charrie before running out of minutes...

I don't know exactly when time reset is so that I can jump online and check my charries...

Nope... Not me!
