Re: Things that thrill or amuse you about Cantr.
I spawned a character a while back with plans to make them a bit less of a goody-two-shoes than my usual type, and it was very exciting for them to get a chance at some minor practical thievery today ^_^ It was starting to look like all the people being nice to them might turn them soft.

My most active characters have all undergone some serious stuff this past week or so. To the point that I am feeling rather messed up in the head over it all.
Cantr is one of the few games that can do that to someone. I love it. Now, someone please give me a hug.

As for things that thrill, amuse, and inspire me about Cantr?
re-learning the interface, and then just when you have a frustrating day trying to figure out the ticks and timing and craft-tree to work towards a project, someone RPs a silly thing and it makes me Smile.

Because our characters live in postapocalyptic world and survive
Scavenging resources from abandoned villages is cool and you can hit a real jackpot
PS
Where's the thread about what's annoying in Cantr?

Pretty sure the annoying thread got nuked by mods. I was looking to post in it awhile back about the sudden influx of midgets (under 5' adult pcs) and cripples.

It got moved back. Keep it within the rules. No targetting specific players or discussing on-going events. Enjoy.

It cracks me up how some Poles (in game) insist on calling Polish ''the common language' and claim that it should be the international language.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. He is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

Same applies to just about anyone that says their language should be the international language in Cantr. That would involve ages out of game learning or a massive decrease in player base for it to be even conceivable. There are simply too many languages for any one to be viable as a common language in Cantr.

This game used to only have English as a language option once upon a time.
I rather like having more language groups though.

Oh, I assumed Dutch was there from the start because Jos is originally Dutch.

That would make sense if there'd actually be a decent amount of Dutch speakers in the world

There's a reason for the reply you typically get when you tell people you're learning Dutch:
But... why?
But... why?
