Public vs private

Postby Sunni Daez » Tue Nov 09, 2004 2:33 am

 Just curious... has anyone ever recieved a public text that should have been *whispered*? Have you ever said aloud what should have been whispered? *laughs* I know I have... both ways hehehehe

I'm usually pretty organized with that, and by now, it's all hammered down for me. I don't slip up as much now as I used to.

I think those people who're flirting with eachother should have the entire conversation in private. No need for us to know-

I don't make that mistake in the sense of speaking aloud when I meant to whisper...but I have been know to mean to speak aloud when I shouldn't. Misreading the event so I think everyone heard what the other guy said...

Well, I am still new to Cantr, my very first charr. just turned 21.... so mistakes happen...rarely....as for the flirting, I agree that it should remain private, but everything *whispered* is not flirting. *smiles* I have never role played before, I am an unpublished "author" ,( does that count? ) My Niece introduced me to this, and now I am addicted. *grins ear to ear*

You don't know addiction untill your characters are hitting 40 and you can't figure out where the time went :D

Still, join the swarm...there is no escape...

To toss a bone to the actual topic...while I, and at least some of my characters, have no desire to hear about other's romances, there's no general reason they shouldn't take place out loud...that should depend on the characters involved and the environment.

In a branch of the topic...how much *emote*ing do people do in whispers? Unless I get absent-minded I've been restricting it to some facial expressions, on the theory that those would be concealed from any watchers.
If I need more than that, I break to do the emote 'out loud'.

It happened to me a few times when I first started playing again. I always managed to roleplay my way out of them.

But once something was said out loud to me that was indeed very private. It's hard to roleplay your way out of it if it was said by someone else. I was so embarrassed I was about to delete my account and make a new one. That is the most horrible feeling having all eyes on your char. thinking their a whore for letting someone do that to them in the middle of the street! Now try getting out of that one. Ha!

Well many of us have many char's that have quite the history and their lives would make good books I'm sure. Stick to Cantr and you'll have plenty to write about

Yes quite a few times. Im not so much embarrassed it was out loud, but embarrassed because I know some people get real mad about it. I'm thinking. ...(Wonderful, who will bring it up on the boards this time..)

I have been playing for years. Plenty addicted, but never had a 40 year old.

yep. I've both received and given messages that should have been private. Newbie mistake on my part, but that's life.
You will be missed, Xola Tabil.

There is no part of my attitude that requires adjustment.
