Also when my character takes the wrong road (or takes the road while meaning to name it >_<) and it takes an in-game hour to walk back the distance it took a second to cover on the way out.

There must be some exceptionally interesting rocks/bug/grasses at the ends of all the roads.

Doesn't suck as much as 99,8%... It's like crawling for last hour

I remember once it was literally at 100%. Everyone had lots of bad things to say about that poor road that day. :P

The way I see it, is that every single road dips greatly in the middle, so that when you leave a town, you zoom a great distance away, but then the momentum from the downhill run isn't always quite enough to get you all the way up to the other end...

This would also conveniently explain why the dots on the map are the only human livable locations! Everywhere else is much too steep for building or farming! Brilliant!

Oh yeah. Seen that too. It's annoying

There's also the wormhole theory: the wormhole keeps its passengers for so long and then spits them out after a certain amount of time. Carrying more things makes longer the amount of time spent in there, but cars and steeds and the like can coax the wormhole to permit them exit faster. Maybe the wormhole doesn't like the smell of car exhaust and horse feces.

It says a lot of how bad my second attempt at Cantr was, that I don't remember much at all of L&L despite having once had a character (at the time my only character) working for them.

I'm already doing way better with this time round, and with four more characters too.

There's something that's been puzzling me for a while now, and I have found where it has been answered in the past. When someone copies and pastes the chat from the day into a note and directly hands it to you like it's a regular, every day thing. We're supposed to be totally immersed in the game. I've never recorded everything I've done throughout the day. Even a diary doesn't have that ability. Why is it okay to do here?

Because even though our characters might have a full day, the players do not. It's convenient and I'd rather lose that tiny bit of immersion than miss out on a juicy bit of gossip just because I happened to be installing a window inside.

Snoopy, you can't glance at a pile of potatoes and say exactly how many grams it weighs, or have a person say hello to you in passing while you're sleeping and recognize them instantly with no room for error thirty years later, either, so what's your point? :P

Cantrians just have insanely precise memories about things, it's one of the many little oddities about the world, but that still is the world your characters are created and develop their beliefs and personalities and understanding of the physical laws in, not the real one. It always makes me a little sad when people want to ignore that uniqueness and import their own OOC thinking and RL expectations instead of playing and developing their characters and towns naturally in the world they actually exist in.

The gossip is likely more accurate than trying to document something historical. Sometimes it seems more like somebody is trying to get someone else into trouble or stir up drama.

I get the perfect memory idea. Maybe I'm more jealous of that perfect memory. Oh the failings of the mind.

Yeah, it bugs me too. Especially that it can be used as a proof of what was going on. It kind of ruins the game in my opinion. You can't accuse someone of saying something, because that person will instantly paste the logs into a note. Yeah, one can say, that you can always prepare your own, faked logs, but somehow... It never works. Unfortunatelly it happens both in the EZ and in the PZ. :(

Edited: What also bugs me is all when you find a note in a town with a transcript of a radio broadcast, including stuff like "4904-5.33: You hear from radio at freq. 100: "#twanging guitar that sounds a bit off#" It's just so OOC. Why do people get mad when a char A knows char's B name just because it was mentioned in * * by a char C, and at the same time making notes with * * transcripted in them is considered as fine? I don't get it.

It's like Harry Potter - the notes are capable of conveying moving images and sounds.
