Iavatus(and Ignacius!), first, welcome back from the land of inexplicably unexplainable bans.

Second, I agree. There's a point when we have to open our eyes as a community and see what's going on and ask ourselves whether this is what we want for ourselves and our fellow players. Transparency. Please. Not a sweeping a player under the rug and hiding them from the general public, swearing them via 'rules' to a vow of silence re:the sweeping, and no justice. It's a little harder to sweep whole groups, as I'm sure is being recently realized by some people.

The best way to change or improve is to engage yourself into staff work. It's really easy to sit on the forums and yell "I demand change". It's a whole other thing to actually make a change, while making sure the change provide an increased fairness, does not affect game play, is actually possible to adhere to by staff, etc, etc, etc.

Welcome with your applications! :)

Imagine my reaction when I got up and saw the responses.

What I got from this, was unless we are in staff, our voices have no sound. hopefully you understand, when making a game, you have to take the player base into consideration at -all- times. I've seen games come and go for this exact reason. And by consideration, I mean not to ignore their suggestions, and not act like they don't matter because they do, we do.

Now, I like cantr, I really do. But I can't help but wonder, how many people are going to stand for this ban and rebanning. Hopefully i didn't say anything IE 'Adding fuel to the fire' so to speak, or that would qualify me as ban worthy, as I am trying to make a suggestion and place things in perspective. And if I am, well, it just proves my point.

@echoman
You are insinuating and implying that an opinion or voice doesn't count if one is not staff. I understand perfectly, what you said speaks for itself.

You think it's the best way, emphasis -now- on best, as if you weren't just condescendingly accusing me of just sitting around yelling things, because of course unkess we're staff, that's all were doing.

Hello, second best thing, I suppose. I invite you to give me a better suggestion on how to affect change than joining the staff that we've already established cannot accomodate everyone, and of which not everyone has time for.

Just a curious side question on this topic: how do you apply to be staff member and what requirements it has? I didn't find any clear things about that really even though I'm sure it's said somewhere... It would probably help people who want to join if they can easily find things like that. I know that not all are automatically fit for staff due.. various reasons so it would be nice to have clear post about that and yes, I know staff opportunities topic but that's really old so I*m not even sure it's up to date even...

From the game page, there's a list of departments and a button you can press to apply. That being said, I tried to apply through those buttons and never heard back. Was going to look into it once I got onto the forums, but I got a bit sidetracked. ;)

I know there are buttons to apply but since forum is main channel for communication I would think it would be good have something here too with more information about places open, requirements, general information about post etc.

Its all a but micky mouse really but thats par for the course in online games with a volunteer administration base. Different interpretations, reasoning and attitudes all reflect into the perceived culture of the game and its supporting forums.

If the result of these bans are that there has been less in-game bullying and less evil talk and trolling on the radio, then I'm all for it.

Play by the rules and you have no problem.

And I'd like to thank the admin people for their work.

The result of these bans was that a number of people were locked out from the forums for no specified reason. Thanks for playing, though.

If you have an instance of what you perceive to be rule-breaking behavior regarding "in-game bullying," "evil talk," or "trolling on the radio," I'm sure PD would love to read your report.

I am not even playing in the English Zone, and still I got banned. So, no, these bans were not at all about bullying in game or whatever.

@Rebma & @OptimusChrist : You two are angry, I get that. But you also put a lot of things into what I wrote that isn't there. Again, the BEST way of changing things are to join in and work for that change. That is what I wrote, and that is what my opinion in. Everythig else you claim I wrote is created by you, not me.

It is obvious to me that you don't want to find solutions, you want to stir up more shit, but to what end? That still isn't clear.

I have to assume you will turn everything I just typed into more stuff that isn't there, if so, have fun. I'm not going to discuss with grownup people that can't play nice.

I'm on staff and I don't feel like there's anything I can do to change this situation. The problems with GAB are being discussed by GAB, so I cannot contribute there. What is it I'm able to help with as a staff member?

There was not a malicious word I said in my response, in fact I was hoping you could at least clarify what you meant, but since you want to put words into my mouth, saying I want to stir up shit, it seems who the real adults are. Good day.

Thank you Echo, for your responses. It's good to see it's being taken seriously. And that's the best thing we can hope for currently, to have our concerns taken seriously.

I would like to see other staff shoulder some of the burden here, as it does seem one member is being the front of the debate, and the people more responsible for this are keeping quiet. Publicly only, I do hope. But whatever happens, that's one or two more then none, which is what we had before.
