That moment when a character you half-thought was not 'real' turns out to be real after all, and very interesting.

This... so true. :) Unfortunately, the reverse has been true for me as well... character that I had an interesting idea for and it turns out to be something I don't enjoy.

Think he's talking about other people's characters, and I agree. I've had opportunities to interact with some really well known ones recently and it's this sudden feeling of Ohhhh, now I get why they get so much praise and attention. :D

First point is that, while it isn't terribly important in this context, I am actually a girl. *shrug*
Second point is that yes, I am referring to meeting other people's characters here.

Though admittedly it can be just as fun when a character you only had a small idea for suddenly gets a personality and ideas of her own, and starts doing stuff without you having to think much about "oh, what would be in-character for my idea of this character?"

That is, and remains, one of my favorite parts of Cantr.

Huh. That moment when you suspect that two, rather unique characters are played by the same individual.

Legend.

It's so exciting when your roleplay begins to sync with another player's! When the interactions between your characters are so perfect and interesting, and you know that you are actively making a difference in each other's stories. It's these types of interactions that make playing the game worth it!

Or when your characters are so utterly and fun-ly awkward with one another... sometimes that can be fun too.

When you and your friends plan and work towards something, whether it's a modest goal or an insanely ambitious one, and finally that moment arrives when you can make it happen and it all pays off.

Additionally, when you don't do any planning, and just throw yourself into a situation with equally irresponsible friends, and it all works out somehow anyway.

When you see the extremely varied opinions and historical accounts of your characters from the past/present on the forum and only you know their real story, emotions, and motives.

It's really interesting how history is often misconstrued or interpreted differently by others who are affected by your actions :P

That's why the Story book is so important! It's not dead.

Edit: I get a kind of perverse pleasure from experiencing the same person with different characters. It's probably one of my favourite things in this game, because it reminds me that each character is its own, unique story.
