That is what I've picked in my yard this morning

Now I'm going to make the best dish there exists - scrambled eggs with wild mushrooms. :D

And in the evening I am visiting my parents. We're going to have a bonfire (someone will have to 'light a cozy fire') and eat a traditional Polish dish, cooked on the fire. Now, that is what you call a perfect Saturday.

And they are! Those are boletes, mostly brown ones and some yellow-cracked ones. Mushroom picking is one of those rare things that I enjoy more than Cantr. Not to mention mushroom eating!

As a member of the college band, I'm forced to play at a football game. I hate American football.

It sounds like a hobby I should pick up. :D

We hardly ever get mushrooms here, the weather's not right for it.

There are meadow mushrooms sometimes I know, but I don't trust myself enough to identify it. The occasional puffball mushroom is all I'll ever take a risk on since there's not too much they can be mistaken for afaik, but it's pretty rare to find one.

I find football to be pretty boring.

Oyster and shelf mushrooms are pretty easy to identify.

Also, a heavy, concentrated tincture of milk thistle will save you and your liver in case of accidental poisoning. This simple remedy is used in Europe, but is unfortunately not allowed in the USA because of a paranoid FDA. :?

I'm guessing there's probably a sub-reddit for this.

I feel like I am finally evolving into an adult. We're building a house, having a baby... I even know why buffalo grass takes more care coming out of winter, and when to harvest garlic.

Well let's just say that I can identify them with 90% certainty, but since that 10% uncertainty could possibly lead to a horrible death, and it's not like I'd be eating them out of necessity, I'm pretty okay with just looking at a mushroom and going 'yeah, I think that's a meadow mushroom' and then moving on.

Congrats! I am finally getting my shit together too, but on a much lower level. I'm finally applying for school, funnily enough, to be a midwife. :)

We get mushrooms here a lot. Usually they appear in little blue or black styrofoam containers with plastic wrap on top. I don't know why they grow so well in there, maybe they like stale air? But my mom swears they're safe to eat. As far as I know she doesn't hallucinate so maybe.
