When your favorite character is...no longer your favorite and playing them has become a flavorless experience.

When you have a quiet character amidst a very active city and wants to interact, but know that your character wouldn`t do it.

I go through this a lot. Not so much that it wouldnt be the charries choice but just that I'm so horrible at RP. You let them sleep work so much you feel odd about waking them and trying to do something with them so thye just sort of sit until I kill them off and make one more failed attempt at being a good RP'er.

You can just talk. Nobody minds. Last year's winner of the top 100 character list uses an emote once a year if you're lucky. Good RPers are consistent and it has nothing to do with the elaborateness of their speech or the vividness of their emotes.

People that don't work on projects for days until you ask them for help. How realistic is that though! :x

This is definitely one that puzzles and annoys in equal measures. Don't other people get this uncomfortable feeling, mildly distressed feeling when a project tick goes by and your chars aren't all working on something?

I've got one that hasn't had anything to do but repair already brand new tools the last few days and it's been maddening.

Figured that'd be the case, so brought along a needle, and finally got the chance to make my pants less OH GOD THE CROTCHING and more .... realistic. Like something a Cantrian, aka, a filthball with zero personal space or hygiene, would actually wear.

Well now you're just being silly. Cantrians are flawless and drop dead gorgeous/handsome, and clean. All of them. I mean it's not like they routinely scoop hot steaming dung out of a dead animal's carcass or grub around in the dirt or eat rotten meat or anything.

But you're speaking of leather pants, I assume, and yes, the description is always hilariously inappropriate for most of mine and in need of immediate changing if they can't avoid wearing them.

As much as I was an advocate for the automatic day reports suggestion way back when,

I hate it now.

Why?

Because I no longer have a reason to log on anymore!

Also now I think there could be a manufactured expectation that I need to read all my day reports and the events page to catch my characters up to what's been going on while I've been being a butt and not playing them. There's way too much for me to read on some characters.

I should just unsub and be done with this game. Not Cantr, I mean this game of going away and then coming back for a week and then going away again because what if I want to come back and play one of these characters from where I left them and schtauf?

If it's too much, just don't read them. There's no expectation for you to do anything. How much you put into or get out of your characters is entirely up to you.

You can re-disable the reports, too, if they're bothering you. They started out turned off anyway.

Well, that's kind of the nice thing about the game. You can put into it as much as you want. I'm fine with most of my characters sleepworking and occasionally saying something if I feel like it. Sometimes I sit around roleplaying all day. Other days I just check in and make sure everyone is still working and go off to take a lightsaber to some gundarks or something.

I know that; I've been playing for five years now. I have 7 living characters and it's more than I can play actively right now, and so the ones with more responsibilities and more lines to read get shelved (but not killed because I want to want to play them but it never happens...). I play with my character who lives with one other person and they just sleep and feed a horde of hogs more than I play my Blackrock. (Everyone knows I have one of those, right?)

Well I do now! Spoilers. There'll always be people who haven't been active on the forums for long.

It's kind of annoying when I know characters are alive because they haven't dropped dead yet and it's been years and years, but in that time they haven't so much as scratched their chin. I hope that when they wake up they're all bedraggled, because it's rained a lot and they're not using their lovely umbrellas.
