Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr

Its not really about Cantr in game play really, but....the suggestion for a book was added by Pie. The only thing I remember about Pie was that he had more typos in his text than correctly spelled words, guaranteed. That and capitalization wasn't gonna happen. I suppose it made me sad to fondly remember him, but also that he doesn't play anymore. It took this long for books to be in reach. I'm happy they're coming, just wish that the person who suggested that was still around to see it come.

What a nice thought. I miss Pie too! He's probably all grown up by now... maybe even spelling better

It's possible he was a bot... but he certainly wasn't a troll. He participated constructively in many RD discussions, where he was an active member.

Aww... Pie was a sweet kid. Or an alien sent to unnerve us all with his typos. I do miss him. The horrible spelling and typing was annoying at first but it quickly became endearing with him.

Sadly, this is a thing that seems to be becoming a trend. (OOC: fine, I'll just go to sleep, or kill this character, boohoohoo!)

I've encountered it more than once, and so have others I've talked to. I think it's reportable? Trying to influence IC actions with OOC remarks, or something like that?

Or did they say IC that they would fall asleep? That's...a little bit better, at least. At least your char can hear and respond to that.

I called it an OOC threat, but it was done IC. The effect is the same.

There is a fine line here. You should definitely report any attempt to manipulate gameplay via OOC. If it’s anything that might fall under NCS or even explicitly violent roleplay, there does need to be a way for the player to communicate that they are uncomfortable with it and don’t wish to participate.

If the threat was done in char, that’s annoying, but doesn’t really cross the line as sleeping is something that chars do do in game.

Well I don't know about Kyriel's situation, but the ones I saw were both just in response to some teasing and mild mockery, up until that point all IC. I can only assume they'd quit the entire game and possibly the internet forever if a character ever got kidnapped or killed or had anything legitimately unpleasant happen to them.
