The Dead Character Thread

Alright.. a start with my chars.

Marre:
She spawned in a remote forest on the hislands with two dutch travelers, one asleep and the other mentally retarded? No shield, no clothes nor food were available for her. Lucky she could hide from the animals in a small cabin in between the wood gathering and grilling some meat. Her first years were very exciting, barely surviving (and great dutch RP with the lady that was half blind, half like a child. can't remember her name anymore).
After the travelers left without her she got badly wounded by a few animals, she had to walk to the nearest town Sil where they helped her. Not finding a home there she decided to keep walking after she got healed. Into the woods again she found a very old spanish man. She lived with him for a few years though he ignored her completely. When she walked further she met a young man living on his own. She had hoped she could live with him, but his mind seemed full with his lifegoal; building this great house. There was no place for her there so she walked back to the old man, who had died in her absent. Finding him and the keys made her probably the richest woman on the hislands. She packed a part of the stuff into a jeep and went to find another home in Wirwarrov. The old man apparently had the keys of some buildings there as well, so she just started living in one of the buildings without anyone ever asking about it.
Wirwarrov was pretty exciting for a couple of years, having a vlootschouw every five years (all the dutch captains coming there to tell about their travels). There were some nice parties. But it slowly grew more quiet. She decided she was going to build a ship as well. At that time a young sweet girl, Charlotte, spawned. They became good friends and sailed all around the hislands together. Charlotte slowly got a crush on Marre and even though she had no lesbian feelings towards her they got into a relationship. Still Marre wasn't happy with it deep down and one day, when they were back at Wirwarrov, Marre just sailed away without her.
She sailed towards the polish islands, with her ship still not completely rigged she decided rigging to be her goal. Together with learning new languages. Still, trading with the polish was quite hard with them ignoring her mostly when they found out she didn't knew a word of polish. She had a few exciting times sailing alone. I remember her being hunted by five Polish rakers once. Then she met a young polish man (Hryz), getting into the weirdest relationship ever with constantly fighting for control over the other and hurting each other (good RP!!) With him to speak to the polish she had her ship rigged in no time. After a while he had hurt her feelings too much and then went more sleepy, so she killed him.
Trying to find a new home she went to the Omeo party where she met Miirkaelisaar, he was nice to her and people hadn't been nice in a long time. He invited her to come home to Brunoi with him. She was there only a few years before her heart gave out, but she was happy there (specially when the drama was over with part of the inhabitants leaving). Spooning stick master Ettore (secretly having crush on him), talking to Purple (such a nice guy) and the others. It was the place where she finally found herself a home.

Maaike:
Spawned on the hislands in a town with only one active dutch man. She didn't feel she had a place there so she started walking and got terribly lost in the swamps for about ten!! years. She just walked on and on, hunted by crocodiles, but managing not to die and getting enough food with hunting and grilling some meat. Eventually walked into a French town (Romov?). She had grown very fearful of people in the years when she was alone. Lucky two dutch people came to gather in the french town, they took her back to their town (Meerloo) and she grew accustomed to them. Working with Marcel on the goals he set out was a good life for her. They even managed to build a car (the Meercedes) to travel the island, looking for more dutch people who were active. Though she always was afraid meeting new people, Marcel made her feel safe. In the end they were building a raker to find more active dutch people.

Moss:
Ooh always wanted to have a Zuziguard and then Moss spawning with extreme strength and expert fighter in Zuzi.. Would've loved seeing where the story led her, her twin Som, Zhao and them in training with Loki.. If only she would've had more time..

Louisa White:
Spawning in Olip he immediately knew something went wrong with the spawning. Luckely he didn't made a big problem out of it and he just found himself a bikini with a horrid hide cloth to cover up in first. Shausugar eventually helped him find a goal in life and help him become the Louisa she was. She build up L&L together with her sister Libby. Fashion being her big passion and it turned out a way of life for her. Loving the handsome captains that came by, always being cheerfully happy, giving her opinion about how gorgeous they looked. Her big contribution to the world, making the world a more beautiful place by making people look more beautiful.
Her first love shook her up a bit by killing himself, but she just straightened her back and went on with her perfect little life. Then meeting her second big love Jasper, being completely accepted by who she was by him. How cute they were. Their wedding being the highlight in her life, -the- event of the season. Not to mention that dress!! Even Jasper (almost) being asleep during the wedding couldn't ruin it for her.

Louisa was brilliant to play, her always cheering me up, specially the no drama part She was "suffering" from a slight narcissistic personality disorder, with her refusing to see any drama or anything that didn't fit her views. She just straightened her back, putting her head up and it was gone. Fashion saved her, it was her way of life. I do want to thank anyone playing with her, the ones that accepted her for being who she was, but also specially the chars frowning upon her. Let's face it, cantr folks turn out to be -very- accepting of these things, not like real life at all.. And thank you specially Shausugar and Jasper, you two made her who she was..

Marre was an interesting character to roleplay with. Never a dull moment. Several of my chars have met her. I wish there were more characters like her in the dutch language area.

My other chars.. gods I miss cantr!!

Nyk Branchie:
Spawned in the forest of Xiria. On her second day a young man bearing scars and no voice came by, Kurosaki Akor. Even though he didn't speak, they understood each other perfectly. There immediately was a connection between them so he decided to stay with her. They had a loving affair that lasted for over ten years. Together they had a small cabin with nothing in it. Spending their time inside together or outside gathering wood with their bare hands. There were good times with Holly, Oakly, Wren and Ardin. Holly fell asleep after a few years with all the keys on her. So no way to make any tools or good weapons for themselves. Still they stayed because they saw the forest as their home and they hoped Holly would wake long enough to actually give over the keys. Wren had a rough time with Holly not returning her love. Then Wren found her love with Ardin, such an exciting and good time in the forest.
After years waiting they decided they were going to trade the wood for a van. Suddenly things went very fast. Holly woke a bit, gave over some keys. The four of them (Wren and Ardin + Kurosaki and Nyk) managed to make a crowbar, tools and started taking control of the town. The two couples grew closer with especially the friendship between Nyk and Wren. With Wren still being attracted to woman, their friendship and the friendship between the two couples grew to be more than friends. But quickly there came trouble in paradise with Kurosaki not being happy about Wren wanting more from Nyk. Kurosaki started more and more ignoring Nyk from her point of view. He slept for days and days, but she saw him move, so she knew he wasn't really asleep. They left to get the van from the other side of the island, but nothing changed. When they came back in the forest they decided to leave the forest. On their small trip they spend some time in Xiria. Nyk finally could take no more of his ignoring her and fed up with her life she shot a bolt in her stomach with the intention to kill herself. He went crazy and cut himself bad with his sabre. That made Nyk so furious she decided to kill him instead of herself. She healed herself and shot him before dragging him into their van. Where he eventually killed himself with a hit on his head with a crowbar. Nyk drove back to the forest where Ardin had just had a heartattack. Wren was heart broken and Nyk was completely dazed, she couldn't get herself to comfort Wren. Instead of doing that she forgot all about what had happened and just had fun with a newspawn. This made Wren and her grow apart even further. After some time she left the forest, planning to travel with the van. A newspawn called Artemis joined her.
They had only traveled a bit, to alenz fields south when Artemis fell asleep outside the van. Nyk was just skinnydipping (she kept roleplaying even with Artemis asleep) when Fredrik came through town for the second time. They came to talk and talked for days and days in a row. Nyk was quite interested in Fredrik right away but he was kinda scared for her. Being pretty thickheaded he had no idea a girl could like him. On the first or second night she laid down in the haystack to sleep, he sat next to it. On the next day she asked him again he finally dared laying next to her, without relaxing one bit. He woke up with her completely laying over him and his chest covered in her drool. (LOL) I think they stayed in town for almost a year, when they were to part. Fredrik still had no idea of her liking him. Just a day before he was about to head on she told him that she liked him and there their relationship started. They headed out to Alexilad where he showed her their home. From now on they shared everything and talked all day long, driving some people around them crazy. They had so many plans together, such an exciting and good life. He asked her to marry him pretty soon and they got married in Alexilad. There was a beautiful ceremony with the sheep on the beach, them flying their fighting kites, music. Life after that was their constant honeymoon. They did amazing things together, climb high trees in the forest, went sight seeing to old castles, swim in midst of winter and then get warm in the haystacks. Not a dull moment together, her being his flower and him her bee. They even visited Wren a few times, to see if she could be friends with her again. But with Wren still having feelings for her and seeing her being so in love with Fredrik, that didn't work out. In the end Nyk was looking for even a bit new excitement and convinced Fredrik to break down a repeater with her. She was annoyed with everyone being so annoyed with the radio with such an easy solution in her eyes. Plus it would get people working together again and travel instead of just sitting in their towns. Fredrik could never refuse anything to her so they broke down the whole radionetwork on cantrisland with destroying one repeater. Unfortunately they were caught and it gave them much trouble with other people that Fredrik seemed to find worse than she did. Though she loved her bee with all her heart and would do anything for him. He had made her more happy than she ever was before, it were the most beautiful years of her life.

Mya Starz Saga:
Spawning in the harsh Xendra mountains as the maybe the strongest woman on the cantr island. The town ruled by a great woman Trillian Saga and her man, Sloane Starz. First ten years she felt lost there, actually wanting to leave the place. But the mountains grew on her and she decided to become a saga. She had many adventures with crazy folk and thiefs all through her life, which she actually loved. Slowly Trillian grew sleepy and Sloane and her grew closer, but not being able to do anything with their feelings with Trillian still being alive. When her heart finally gave out they became a couple, eventually even gotten married. They carried on with Trillians plan for the town, newspawns earning their way to become a saga. Many newspawns gave it a try, many died. She took life as it came in the mountains, relentless, harsh, but fulfilling. Over the years she grew rougher, loving a good hunt, a chase, or a bare fist fight without shields. Her crossbow almost being a part of her. She learned much about fighting from Loki, a former zuziguard. She loved being teased by her man Sloane who was always there for her. And a great bunch of folks always in the town. She had a good life. They can toss her body off the cliffs now


Jack Johnson:
Spawned in Pok Harbour with a sleepy bunch who almost gave him nothing. Till they all died one by one and he got the town's keys. He lived alone for almost ten years, sometimes taking a small trip, but always alone. Mostly just working inside the workshop that he considered his home. He finally decided he wanted to see the island so he started to make his own van from scratch, what almost took him another ten years.. In that time he met Sapphire. She drove into town alone, on the run for people who were chasing her. He immediately fell in love with her, wanting to protect her. She slowly warmed up to him, specially when he promised her the world (meaning all the riches she could've dreamed off). Specially Sapph singing out ~Jack~ couple of times a day always made him grin. He gave her everything she wanted, only to get harsh words and her threatening to cut off his balls. What he found very amusing actually, but he would've given everything just to understand her. A while after that, Rymke and Jebediah followed to the harbour with a few other newspawns. They started a business while Jack kept working to make his van. He planned marrying Sapphire, but she refused to do so till he would find the right words. Strange people came and went, every outcast was made welcome by Jack's rules. When he finished the van he left to see the island, but after a short trip he returned. Only to find the town taken over by a group he trusted at first. He went back a few times, half wanting not to let his hometown go, but eventually realizing there was no place anymore for him. Also Sapphire really trying to cut off his balls after he locked her up to safe her life, didn't help. (LOL)
He went on the trip he always wanted to make, drive around the big lake. On the way back west he helped stop a thief and ended up in KMN, meeting a young girl scared of the world, Ana. He liked her sweetness, wanting to protect her from the moment he saw her. But after a few negative adventures with some other woman on his travels he didn't go through with it. (He -really- was the most clumsy man around woman, offending many woman without even realizing it. Specially woman got him so confused). Lucky she later got him on radio convincing him to come back. After a quarrel in KMN they weren't welcome anymore, (still don't get what happened exactly) so they started travelling around the island together. They had some nice times. They broke into a lot of vehicles that were abandoned, for newspawns to take them. Finding stuff to give newspawns a good start in life, the start he never had. He always worried about Ana, specially when she climbed her trees or coming too close to big cats.
I got reminded about the time he got completely drunk with Nathor in pok. Laughing at Aubergine the dwarf and asking if she had fallen into the fruit press. (He always had brilliant encounters like that making me laugh so much. I tried playing him slightly different than the usual char, actually frowning upon everything strange and laughing in some char faces like it would happen in the real world) After way too long he and Ana decided to get married. Jack had been thinking about asking her, but wanting to get the proposal perfect..
This was after he actually tried killing himself in the mountains, not knowing what his goal in life was anymore. He died travelling with his beloved Ana.

My goodness, I cannot believe the same person played Louisa, Nyk, and Jack. Considering my characters' and my own feelings as a player for these three were so vaaaastly different between the bunch... Well done. Sorry to see you go.

^^^Seconded. Suspected it with the timing of the deaths, but it was hard to believe. Adored Louisa, could have happily choked the life out of Nyk.

Dancing Bear.

Sahaj Dramian - He was my youngest. I spawned him with the idea of traveling rock singer with weird new age beliefs. I decided he would be my first victim of cutting back. I felt I wanted to devote more time to my other characters. He was rather unconnected to anyone and I had lost enjoyment with playing him. I plan to cull a few more when they turn 70, as I feel like ending a few stories to focus on others.

Aw... There were some characters who were wondering about him. His dances will be missed.

I'm sorry about Dancing Bear and Sahaj Draiman. Dancing Bear was such a lovely and funny character. I always loved his dances, my character will be sorry to learn his passing.
Sahaj Draiman...My chars have been a fan of his musical style, but he has almost never looked lively or happy. Now since even Sahaj has passed away I feel very Cantr old.

That was part of Sahaj trying to look "badass"... he liked to be a gloomy sort of fella, at least on the surface. But I felt I had too many characters on that island and I've been trying to cut down from 15 characters down to maybe 10... so he was the easiest to cut back as he didn't really have ties.

Where was Sahaj? I remember seeing him sometime in 2014.

He spawned in Dragonloft, then traveled around that whole Shortinazy area, then Longinazy and Klojt, where he earned a motorcycle and drove around through the Klojt and Pok mountains and Pok and Freedomland and then all around the Zhift and Dorian areas, down to Baak and back up again through the Krif areas, followed by going back to Klojt to die. So - in other words - he saw around half of Treefeather in his lifetime.

Milo Fabron:
My third character. He spawned in Kwor on 4015 and passed away on his 60th spawnday - 4815 - from hostile crossbow fire. He was an fearless sailor and explorer, having sailed completely around the world. He most especially enjoyed sailing through vast swatches of unmapped areas, trying to find people that were "off the grid" so to speak. He learned Polish, though very poorly... but at least well enough to trade. He was mostly good of heart but enjoyed the occasional rush of power that came with kidnapping folks or salvaging locks in empty areas, but he typically would eventually release his prisoners and also give away lots of salvaged goods. He ended life with many belongings, but his true riches were the experiences of his life. His fearlessness is what got him into trouble in the end, though, as he ignored warnings of pirates many times in his life - having thought himself invincible due to his strength and combat skill, and also the fact that most warnings turned out to be either completely false or exaggerated or simply old. And he also met a group of pirates once and they turned out to be some of the coolest people he'd ever meet. However, it turns out the last pirate warning he received was legit and he was killed rather instantly and unsatisfactorily. On his spawnday, no less. Go figure.
