Yes. When I saw this for the first time, my character was in awe.

Are they spawned as needed or based on a system/map already in place?

They are already in place. I've heard tell that the development team has a way of making new ones but none of them remember how it works.

Oh I remember something from a year or more ago I wanted to post about here but decided to give it some time. So this is nothing remotely close to anything going on currently in game. But it really annoys me when people come to forum to complain about something another character has dont in game. You have a problem it needs to stay in game not calling out players here about their characters philosophies. There are characters in game that i've not liked with multiple characters but no need to come on here and complain about them or try to sway others opinions of them in an ooc manner. If anything a player needs to be congratulated for playing the game so well that they make someone that mad lol but it takes a little something out of the game to air in game laundry on the forum.

But I rarely see actual names being mentioned here.
I do, however, see lots of people jumping to conclusions or making assumptions (often incorrect ones) based on vague, detailess posts, and it's always funny how much more they give away by their overreaction than the original post ever did.

Bnlphan has a point. I think it's more to whine about things related to the game mechanics and issues which have an actual impact on the game, rather than petty little things which won't matter in a few days time. I'm guilty of posting about characters which irk me, but I do think this topic has been getting increasingly more bitchy.

If you suspect that someone is discussing on-going events (or any attempt to influence other characters/players) it should be reported to PD, not discussed on the forum.

I feel I should double post this in the thrills/amuses thread. But all my time, and I mean ALL my time, has been going into one single character for weeks now. The others are just waking up maybe once or twice a day and doing the bare minimum, and I feel badly for neglecting them, and annoyed at myself for all the productivity this is killing IRL. Yet at the same time this character is around so many other great characters and getting out and doing stuff and we're both having so much fun.

Complaining about the general behavior of some players goes back to the first post in the thread. However, that should be more about general trends, and not recent specifics, although said recent specifics are often a repeat of a general trend.

This, pretty much. Most, or nearly all of the posts in this thread aren't calling out individuals, it's basically 'doesn't it annoy you when people do this', and whether others find it annoying or not, it's a behavior we all recognize because yes, people do that.

Most of the game involves interaction with other people, therefore a good percentage of the things people find annoying are going to involve things other people do. This would be a pretty small thread if it was just limited to mechanics.

And, you know, just because somebody says something is annoying, that doesn't make it an objective statement or anything. People are just venting and expressing their opinions, and a little bit of bitching now and then is good for the soul.

I get a lot of enjoyment out of this thread. I don't know why. It's the first one I check when I turn my computer on each day, sometimes before I check my characters. I think I just enjoy the minor drama. That's my theory on why this thread has been so popular, though. It's actually fun to read, and reading encourages posting. RP Praise can be fun to read, too, but only when I know the characters mentioned, which is hardly ever.

I really love RP praise and whenever I see my characters there I feel appreciated. It's pretty much the endgame goal for me in this game, to be mentioned there on my roleplaying characters (half of mine are simmers with very little fanfare).

I'm sorry about my previous post. I was more or less irritated by one particular incident over a year ago where i was witness to a conflict in game and then see a post on the forum by one of the players involved complaining about politics in game and trash talking the other character. Started thinking about that and that's where my previous post came from.

Its not really about Cantr in game play really, but....the suggestion for a book was added by Pie. The only thing I remember about Pie was that he had more typos in his text than correctly spelled words, guaranteed. That and capitalization wasn't gonna happen. I suppose it made me sad to fondly remember him, but also that he doesn't play anymore. It took this long for books to be in reach. I'm happy they're coming, just wish that the person who suggested that was still around to see it come.
