Ugh, yes. If TV is any indication, you need at least 3-5 seasons of sexual tension first! Where's the buildup? The flirting? The disagreements and misunderstandings?

I know this has been beat to death, and pretty sure Seko or someone just made a post about it recently, but people who make zero effort at capitalization and punctuation or spelling, and also people who fail at basic reading comprehension but still insist on playing a game where players communicate entirely with text.

The former is especially puzzling because I'm pretty sure with most phones it takes MORE effort to not capitalize sentences than to capitalize them. And if they're typing on a computer there's a helpful red line that will point out all those misspelled words for you.

When you are playing this character, and you get into their mind. Get passionate, and then your brain travels faster than your fingers, causing all sorts of typos.

Or when keys get stuck on your keyboard causing you to spam random letters into game chat

Exactly! Which, I have the same problem as well. I really have to fix that...

...stops to avoid hitting a coast.

:x

It really, really annoys me when it happens despite it really looking like it's not going to! *SIGHS*

I like how it stops way, way out to sea, without moving. Like there's a little guy out the front, with a stick as long as the ships movement. If he can poke the land, he just turns back to ship and shakes his head.

The opposite is when you end up sailing through part of the coastline of Fu, because it doesn't count as land, I guess. Instant shortcut.

You do that whenever you dock anywhere too. There are, I presume, rivers. Invisible ones.

Am I alone in disliking the *smiles softly* emote? Ever since I've noticed how common it is, it sticks out like a sore thumb every time, and it's slowly driving me nuts. Softly can apply to a verb where you apply force, e.g. touching, or to a verb that implies volume, e.g. speaking. I'm going to snap at some point and start smiling loudly with all of my characters.

Can we please cut it out with the soft smiles and have gentle smiles or small smiles or something else that actually makes sense?

Another thing: public displays of affection. If you're going to make out, get a room, would you? :? Even if it's PG, I don't want to see it.

I would disagree, Axiom. Although it's overused, I feel like it definitely makes sense. It adds a little to the connotation of the smile and the feelings behind it. To aid my point, I also found a list of several different kinds of smiles. I want to add some of these to my emote vocabulary, actually. http://www.healthworks.my/what-smiles-mean/

Well, yes, it's obvious what the intent is, but there are other words that convey the same meaning but actually make sense when applied to a smile.

More things that annoy me: character descriptions that go on and on about how hot the character is and "cute" girls who are RPed like mentally challenged children. I usually dislike things that try to be cute in general, which of course is a personal preference, but I think it really is weird in a game like this where you have women in their 50's acting like eight-year-olds.

I have no problem with soft smiles. They're not using the sound-related definition of the word, in that case.

Though I would enjoy seeing a *smiles loudly* emote to so take that as you will.

It might just be a pet peeve. It didn't bother me at first, but the more I see it, the more it irritates me. I guess I could vent by picking a character and having them smile in all kinds of nonsensical and inappropriate ways.

*smiles softly*
*smiles loudly*
*smiles musically*
*smiles violently*
*smiles annoyingly*
*smiles silently*
*smiles catastrophically*
