Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
Heh, yet another good reason to not include things about a characters' actions or personality in the description. I always stick to physical things that aren't going to change beyond hair length/style, the addition of scars, and such.
Which reminds me of another thing that kind of bugs me. People who describe their clothes in their description rather than putting custom descriptions on their clothes.

And why do you think that is?
I don't know. My characters have colleagues, subordinates, followers, bosses, but never an actual friend. It's how I prefer it from a roleplay point of view, but the people that giggle and laugh always get the keys to the storeroom first. Unlike them, however, my characters always do have a use for literally every gram of resource when given the freedom.

I had two such characters before I quit, though with one it never came up and I don't think I put in in her description. The other's town leader (curves in all the right places, word for word, while mine was 5'8" androgynously shaped all over) once offered to lend her a swimming costume and was politely turned down

I think about all of my characters have been some degree of average in terms of attractiveness - some have been striking but in 'neutral' ways, scars aside if you don't like those.

The fact I would get everywhere literally twice as fast if travel progressed in more frequent ticks. Treefeather is an infuriating collection of 95% roads.

I agree.. hour long ticks would be much more bearable at least for travel. Same rate, just allows you to actually get from 99 percent to 100 in less than three hours. Don't really make sense it takes the same amount of time to go from 25 to 50 percent as it does 99 to 100 anyways but I guess that's unavoidable.

Yeah...for some reason though, the idea of more frequent travel ticks had the majority of people voting no... *sigh*

Oh god I'd forgotten about that topic. Rereading it is just infuriating. Never mind bringing that up again lol.

I don't remember that topic but I always assumed hourly ticks would be hard on the server. And if we get three times as many for traveling I'd expect the same for everything else.

Things that annoy or puzzle me about cantr: That it's treated partly as a democracy, and then things like that happen.
If I woke up tomorrow magically appointed as Emperor of Cantr Development I'd get rid of ticks as the first order of business (and probably have no players left by the end of the week...)

Eh, I don't see why they'd all have to be the same times. They already happen at different times, not to mention ticks for hunger aren't every 3 hours.

Some of the greatest things in the game are things that no one wants. [edited, 4 day rule]

I actually had no idea that [mysterious event] occurred... or that [cause of mysterious event], but I probably knew that part and forgot.

Uh, on second thought that's covered under the four-day rule. I'll edit.

Swingerzetta, edit out that quote.
But I've been seeing the effects first hand and agree that it's great. Something I've wanted to do forever now but just never had a character pushed far enough to go through with it.
Wasn't it nice back in the day when people would visit their neighbors?
