So.. a woman I work with - or should I say used to work with just got busted at work for huffing epoxy shoe glue. Needless to say, all of us find it hilarious for the simple fact is she tried to pass it off as denture glue to the cops, who could clearly tell she had her real teeth. Then said she was going to fashion new teeth from the glue. Until the cops found the empty glue bottles in the work vehicle, and she owned up to inhaling it. I know its not really funny for something like this to happen, but this woman was literally insane when she was doing it and we could all tell. Even though the supervisor didn't want to do a thing about it, instead he risked the lives of all of us on the road with her, as well as each crew that would get into the van with her.
Oh I should mention, the only reason we even found out what exactly happened, is because it landed in the funny section of our local papers police log.

Was definitely the laugh I needed over the past few days after losing yet another close family member. :-/

So, got a weird phone call from the Sheriff's office today. They are looking for someone that was reported as living with me. O_O Uh..he doesn't. Seems they're on the hunt for someone and it's drug related. It shook me up at first wondering how they knew where I lived and my name and building name at the apartment complex. Then I happened to think ..the other day there was a woman outside, I heard a scream then heard her crying hard. I didn't want to assume she was on drugs but the way she was acting seemed like she might be. But mostly I wanted to make sure she was ok since she was so upset and alone at the time. So I went out and checked on her. She claimed she was having some sort of asthma attack. Soon after she called her boyfriend to ask him to bring her cigarettes. Her boyfriend got there and I excused myself shortly after to go back home feeling uncomfortable with the situation then. On meeting them, I did give my first name only and they saw the building I enterer but not the apartment number, I wasn't giving my exact location...which is exactly the information the sheriff's office received. Seemed like I might have met the guy after all that night. Didn't even get his name. But he doesn't live with me and I don't like that my information is being given to hunt him down!!!!!

Compy: "You know, while I'm restarting, how about I take 20 minutes to install some Windows updates? Yes? Okay! Restart again!"
Me: ...
Compy: "Soooo....something went wrong with the windows updates or something. I'm gonna restart again, but you have to restore it to an older state and lose some stuff."
Me: "Ugh fine."
Compy: "Blargh I am ded."
Me: *force shutdown and startup*
Compy: "Blargh I am ded. Restart!"
Compy: "Blargh I am ded. You should restore me to an older state and lose some moar shtahph."
Me: "NO."
Compy: "Blargh I am ded."
Me: "OMG I DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING."
Compy: "Blargh I am ded."

Sounds like you should run a chkdsk on your hard drive and/or check the cables on the drive as well.

Probably should. It's working again though. I did another one of those system restores. Turns out I didn't actually lose anything (that I've noticed) but still.

System restore shouldn't remove any user created documents and such, just programs that were installed after X timeframe.


And you definitely should, unless you enjoy this little process of course :p


And FYI, I know the pain you are going through with it. Back in the XP days, my HDD got so screwed that I had to reinstall XP on almost every boot. It was not a pleasant experience.

Regarding the wiki, I just want to let people know that the category pages are not updated directly. I don't go to the Category page and click "Edit" to add in the new things to that category; it's done remotely. Please don't be deceived when the Category page claims to have not been updated since 2013 (or earlier). I've had a handful of complains about this specifically.

Is it true that immediately losing all reading comprehension upon entering a grocery store and/or possibly going blind is "just a guy thing" or does hubby have some kind very, very specific learning disability?
