History is written by the victors. You might run into some pretty one-sided reports on some events.

Glen is dead too? He was the only MacGregor Maynard really liked, I always wondered if Glen finished part two of "travels".

You're joking, right? The MacGregors were founded by men sworn to kill Maynard for things he didn't do and Maynard knew it, the only reason Glen was an exception is because Glen turned into a writer, and Maynard was all about how much info he could get his hands on, therefore to Maynard, Glen was a "resource".

There are three parts in all, the last part deals with the 700s onwards, and is to be found in the Library of Castle MacGregor. The paragraph which may be of interest is:

"While the two of us [ie Coventina] grew more passionate, not so far away from [there] Maynard was ambushed by his nemesis Maily Yumm, who aided by Caitlin Mac Gregor and John Locke, ended his long criminal career."

So I don't see why Maynard should have liked Glen. :?

He wrote that after the fact, obviously, so it may have been...influenced by which side had won. Putting out a book castigating Maily could get you butchered by certain people.

Just a thought.

Glen isn't dead as far as I know :)

I was refering to the quote, when I posted.

-

Yes Glen did write about Maynard's death as Sociologist posted.

Another book, which covers the event in more depth, is "The Ranger's Tale"

Might wanna take a look at that ;)

Oh and it has yet a view even more parallel to that of Maily's.

-

EDIT: Oh and Glen left Devon out of the incident?

Doubtful that will ever happen unless I can get ahold of a OOC copy to glance at *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* I haven't had any chars in that region for many years, and since I decided not to start any new chars and quit Cantr when my current chars are all dead, and I only have one char on that entire island now, it's highly unlikely I'll run across it IC.

I'm not the only one to have made that decision then, I see.

However, I plan on my characters living as long as possible ^_^

To look for history IC for OOC reasons would be a breach, wouldn't it? Plus the only characters I have where there is a library couldn't read. It would seem very weird for him to go into the library.

Really? When did you decide? It was about 3-4 months ago for me. There's just too many other things I want to spend time on, my writing, my daughter, I quit smoking and want to start working out again, stuff like that. And I can't cut out any more sleep, I'm on my minimum requirements now...goddamn 24 hour days

I intend to keep my chars alive for as long as possible also, although that doesn't mean i'll intentionally avoid conflict to do so.

To walk around asking for specific info or to travel to a certain place to satisfy OOC curiosity would be.
