You hear something like: "Do you have any candy?"
Mumblemumblemumble
You open Door to Hallway and poke your head out. You see RA and 2 other girls further down the hall.
You say: "I don't have any candy either."
RA says: "Oh, we're actually looking for Cards Against Humanity."
You say: "Oh. I don't have that either."
RA says: "Okay thanks anyway!"
You go back to Dorm and close Door to Hallway.
You ponder why your RA would be knocking on peoples' doors looking for Cards Against Humanity.
You go back to playing Cantr and procrastinating on homework.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Yesterday the pulley on my cars power steering pump popped off and this morning I got home from work to find the power doing some weird draining thingy where the lights are about as bright as an almost dead night Light, and the heat doesn't seem to be working as the thermostat reads 62 F. Power flickered at work 2.5 hours ago so maybe it's related. But uh, that's a ten degree drop in that time. Did I mention I live in a basement apartment, and its -27 C (-16F) before windchill outside?
I want to whine because I can't even drive my car somewhere warmer
UPDATE: I text my sister in another town and was all "Come get me please come get me come save me pleeease the heat is off in here and its like 62 degrees and I have no car lol like haaaaaaalp! " And she is coming to my rescue. With hot coffee. <3

What is with this weather?
It got down to 50 this morning!
50!
I had to put on a pair of socks.

It's 37F outside here right now. The low is supposed to be 27F. Tomorrow it's only supposed to get up to 56F.
THIS is Florida winter.
At least it occasionally snows in Jacksonville, but I'm not that far north.
I think I'm going to crochet myself a new pair of gloves tonight. With closed fingers.

-9F here when I left work. It's actually -5F now. But.. it's still too freaking cold and I think it's time to hibernate all weekend. It's sad when they said over the news last night that the past few days, places in Antarctica have been warmer than us. -_-
Oh look, another glorious morning… makes me SICK!

As I wrote on Facebook yesterday, it's February, it shouldn't be raining in Finland. Today it didn't rain but there are puddles where snow has melted, particularly in the parking lot. Everything is covered in ice covered in water. I slipped and fell once today while I was taking out the garbage. Fortunately no injuries.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Due to old Turkish beliefs first "Cemre" ( The warmth drop which brings the spring, I don't know the English term for that) fell to the air and officially started the Spring even though we don't know yet exactly. Actually light reborn in 21th December and at February 2th (Imbolc) earth started getting more active inside. Second Cemre will fall to water in 27th of this month and finally in 6 March third drop will meet to earth. Though as you all know real warmth will come after Easter/Ostara.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

Meanwhile it's that awful in-between weather here. The kind where you're all sweaty and stuffy in your winter coat until you turn a corner and you're freezing cold.

More like the eastern states. We've gotten a little colder today than in the last few weeks, but we're having an unseasonably warm winter here in the West.

I would love to know how the language in my country has warped to the point where the phrase 'the sparrow's fart', means 'the crack of dawn'.

I'd say just "the crack" should already point you in the right direction?

Etymology is fun. A quick search reveals that it might be a mistranslation of the Urdu word "sawayray" meaning early. The phrase is at least a hundred years old or so, possibly older.

Huh... And here I was thinking it was just Aussies being Aussies. But, I guess that makes sense? I'm inclined to find explanations for all the other bizarre Australianisms now
