I'm looking for a poem

Postby Moonflame » Tue Feb 03, 2015 11:51 am

I've seen it before on here, you'll know which one I mean. It's got lots of names of towns on Cantr and Treefather and it's known to be a clever poem. For some reason I can't find it with the search function. Can anyone direct me to it?

One of my characters is writing a song with place names in and I want to make sure it doesn't look like I'm copying this one. I also want to see if it can help with town pronunciations. I know there's speculation about some pronunciations and it doesn't usually matter ingame, but I don't want to use a pronunciation that basically no one uses or my song won't make sense.

A couple off the top of my head that I'm wondering about are Klojt (clot?) and Olipwhateveritiswash (olip-fir-vash?)

Knatr and Zuzi? These names make me woozy!
Reniov? Flonder? Strange places we wander!

Alenz, Kiii, Naron?
Jakara? Miron?
My tongue got lost on the way from Shambon to Siom!

Lad..vicit..avoi? Oh boy, and Brunoi?
Don't forget Hilloi, and let me guess, Quillanoi?

Sjoftich? I can only write it,
Vraylln... oh, don't make me try!
If I have to pronounce all these words I might cry!

Who's idea was Xendra?
Who makes up this stuff?
Basillica, Xiria,
...Vrayllnu... oh, enough!

How do you even say half of these places?
Who thinks up these names?
I guess I shouldn't talk..
I'm one and the same!

Oh, that must be the one but I swear it was longer than that. It's Cantr based as well and I'm mostly covering Treefather. Good stuff anyway, thanks for that.

Yep that's the whole thing, and character has never left Cantr island so naturally it's only names from his map =P
