So how many of your characters have soap yet?

Postby SekoETC » Mon Oct 20, 2014 6:40 am

None of my characters own soap, one just borrows it from a friend. I wonder if they should be considered stinky because they haven't bathed in years.

If I'm not missing one ingredient on one character. I'm missing the other on another. I'm trying to get soap on a bunch of characters but always lacking just 1 thing :p

Just one and I secretly believe that soaps have been invented just for I killed my Italian char !

3 would have inherited soap when mine died...

If they lived in RL modern society, and within a general location where bathing is the norm...then maybe? If looking from the perspective of your characters, then what we would consider stinky would be their norm, and nothing out of the ordinary. It would be the ones with soap who would be looked at oddly.

None sense. When so many people have bath tubs, and I've seen plenty of people, raping washing off in some sort of water source also. Just now we have scented soaps to make us smell better and have nicer skin. But then again. I've even seen people that would bath in milk for smooth skin.

Oral hygiene is the New one with the introduction to a tooth brush. That whole thing has me thinking about Austin Powers.

My characters who would use soap also have the problem of lacking one ingredient or the other.

With that being said some of my characters with a tub actually bathe in the tub. Shocking, I know. Prior to the invention of soap they've used flowers to make the water smell good, and soda to clean. They got creative.

As for characters 'stinking' One of my characters just commented about how someone smelled good when they bathed with water only. Even that's an improvement to the norm I guess. As was mentioned before I suppose soap is just a bonus.

Some people just naturally smell good. Others...not so much...

None of mine have it yet, oddly enough. I might have some that have the means to make it.

There appears to be some misunderstanding about the olive oil requirement for soap. Please read this wikipedia page. Only three out of seven soaps use olive oil. There are three kinds of luxurious soaps that don't use olive oil, and there's the foul-smelling soap made out of animal fat. The latter should be available to most people.

Can't say I've seen -that- place.

OT: I don't have any soap! But if my one character can get some, she'll be shoving it at a certain someone real quick.
