Of course it does. Most of the time, not always. One of the reasons people play Cantr is to be respected (albeit as a good char) and receive rp praise from others.

Even the most democratic country in our world is, by design, an oligarchy. Politicians are chosen to lead the country. This small group of people is 'holding the keys' and NOBODY else can do anything about it. Changing your democratic vote just hands the power to other politicians within the same small group.

The reality of human society, any human society, is that there are leaders and there are followers. Just a few leaders and many, many followers. Cantr societies are no different: there are a few 'leader' characters and many 'follower' characters.

First off, there is no such thing as more democratic or less democratic. A country is either democratic or it isn't. A democracy is a very specific thing, a political system, not an ideal.
Secondly, no politicians do not hold the keys of the state or the economy. The keys are being held by those who hold the majority of a state's capital (workforce, land, factories, machines and the products).
Cantr societies are indeed a lot different than our society, mostly because resources are infinite, starvation is not an issue (most of the times) and every single town is essentially a monarchy.

Also is your vote really "democratic"? I have a feeling that if things could change for the better in the world through voting, then it would be illegal. Also there are the media who can easily "guide" people.

I think the comparison is pretty much pointless, due to the size of countries vs the size of cantr. Cantr is really more like a tribal setup, or even a household setup. I've had characters in leaderless towns, and they work just fine (until newspawns come along) but for the most part, leadership happens just as naturally as I'd expect it to happen in 'the wild'. Consider town leaders like the alpha males in animal packs, (or the father figure in the typical household, at least in north america) and it all makes perfect sense.

You know things are bad when there's a topic called number of players reaches an all time low.....

Not to mention that some of the players who are still here have their characters asleep....

And to top it all off the ones that are actually awake are getting pretty lazy. as if they have reached the end of the game. A couple of cantr's oldest characters have died in the past couple months, which shows that some of our original players are also getting bored of the game or otherwise real life is taking over. It's nice to see people doing other things besides cantr, but the solution to inactivity is not ousting your oldest characters.

Although I suppose killing them yourself is better than having them killed on you. I certainly don't miss my blackrock character at all. it was too much of a hassle to RP with them while I was semi inactive.

For the past couple of months I've been having a hard time playing this game while my leaders are asleep, my partners are lazy, the sailing map glitch is making one toon impossible to play at all, and I even had one instance where I tried to help a town with this crazy chick only to be locked up, interrogated and then rudely kicked out when they discovered I was right and she confessed. Apparently they tried to help her with her issues, because when I went back a decade later and inquired about her they flipped out on me like I did something wrong by simply mentioning her name. I guess the disappointment of not being able to help her was a bit too much for them. And while these events inevitably lead to this character becoming more interesting to play I can't help but feel ignored and insulted by The towns lack of attention to detail on this entire event with the exception of the one guy that defended me. To be fair, my guy doesn't get along well with others which obviously played into the chaos of that day.

I also have characters I have literally not had any idea what to do with ever since they spawned. and they are somehow still alive to this day. I want to kill them off, but that's not my style. It is a rare day when I decide a character is so useless that he has to die. I suppose as long as they have people that they can call their friends they are still worth having around.

I've taken a liking to RPIng being sick so I can justify how little I play on them. I hate doing it and I personally think it's kinda lame, but if I didn't do that I probably would have quit a long time ago. And deleting the toons I actually like playing on

I suppose this is my 666th post.... Shame it has to be a complaint.

We need to start promoting Cantr. It's literally the only way to fix this game.

Ugh  How hard is it to put a simple question mark at the end of your questions?

I mean, I understand if you make a mistake in spelling or anything, from time to time... But at least -try- to get your interpunction right... Ugh.

Is it just me or when ever I start a new Cantrell character there is always that Guy that disowns me and points out every mistake that would make my character look stupid. How about you guys

Well it might have something to do with the autocorrect? That easily makes a person look ridiculous. But we've all been newbies once. When I was a newbie, I repeatedly kept asking for example which are more efficient, carrots or potatoes, yet no one bothered to answer me. The correct answer would be that potatoes are more efficient when you don't worry about carrying capacity, but carrots are better if you have limited carrying capacity, for example while traveling. I think I may have also tried to trade animal parts in a time when they were worthless.

I know how you feel. There is one character who points out everything that my character said or do. The funny thing is that these are not even mistakes. She always finds a hundred questions to everything.

When you're just sort of turning your brain off for the evening when suddenly! A Thing happens! Scarily! And then you're all full of adrenaline and shaky and alert and then you have to go to bed, and the adrenaline makes it hard to sleep and the fact you have to go to sleep makes it hard to monitor the after effects of the Thing properly.

But maybe it was a good Thing, after all. Certainly it's thrown one of my character's plans up in the air a bit, in the process of unexpectedly following bits of them. I'm beginning to learn that it's foolish to attempt to make plans in Cantr.
