Travel Speed

Postby SumBum » Thu Oct 02, 2014 6:12 pm

Just noticed that land travel (my char is on foot) is acting up. Basically it's rounding to the nearest 10%.

I think it always rounds, but not necessarily to the nearest 10%. I'm not sure what the reasoning or programming behind that is.

You used to be able to set your speed to 99% or 1% or anything in between. Yes, there was some odd rounding that might change it by 1% or so but now it's only multiples of 10.

Just tried setting it to 65%, checked again and it was 64.96, 35% was 35.04, 42% was 42.16, etc.

So, not getting the same thing here... :?

That's really strange. I've tried it with 3 different walking chars just now and all round to the nearest 10%. Otherside, what you explained sounds like the odd adjustments it usually makes. Maybe it's just me?

Maybe this only happens with walking speed.
I suspect the odd percentages are in fact the result of rounding the new speed to the nearest whole number of pixels/day. Unencumbered walking speed is 10 pixels per day. Rounding that would result in 10% changes.

Just guessing...
I think ...
