If I say any more about why she wouldn't be aware of any of it, it would give her away. Plus this was happening before everyone else's drama unfolded, but it was much the same. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same character though. She's not absorbed to the point that she doesn't try to speak to others at least a little.

Anyways, thanks, I need the luck.

I think we are... and what Rebma said. My character has already been an asshole to her.

I'm pretty sure it's just the place too. There is no other place like it.. (Thank f&$k.)

Oh no, it's not the same character then. xD I know one of your characters in her location, and he's never been an asshole to her.

My character is falling apart at the seems in the middle of town, and no one really seems to care or even notice. Even when she wasn't, she would get ignored for the most part. It's infuriating, that other characters can't take a couple of seconds out of their day to ask, "Hey, are you alright? Oh shit, you look unwell!"
Like seriously. In reality, no one waits for a sick person to fall over near dead before doing anything, or for a chronically depressed person to suddenly try hanging themselves before they even notice that person isn't in the best place.

Sure, I'm trying to do it subtly, because the character isn't the type to be open or out there. But I get the feeling even if she did something drastic like suddenly stab herself, no one would react, or act like she was fine all this time and has suddenly gone crazy. -.-

Sometimes I purposely ignore chronically depressed friends in real life... Or, don't ask when I know something is up, and deflect all hints to get me involved.

But, I can be an asshole, so.

Edit : Feel like I should add that I do it when I've got too much of my own shit going on and know I cant get fully invested, so just stay away from it.

I tend to avoid those as well, but my character isn't throwing it on heavy. She just LOOKS sickly, and withdraws from pretty much everything. I don't do the whole dramatic sob-scene thing. Watching the drama llama's bawling their eyes out and screaming in the middle of town just makes me purposely ignore them, I really couldn't be bothered.

Also I just generally think if someone looks sad, even if they're not open to others, just taking note of it and at least trying to be a little nice is common courtesy, even if it's just a glance or something. Otherwise there is no point rping sadness, something bad happens to you and you might as well act like it never happened, because if no one is going to respond or note that anything is wrong, it's really a waste of effort to even type it. :s

I've found that sadness, and grief especially, is answered/acknowledged once or twice... then largely ignored. Same happens in RL though, some people don't ask because they don't want to cause you more hurt, and some just don't want you to drag them down too.

Multiple characters from the same player repeatedly swarming into the same town. Just done with that crap.

Also, in response to previous posts... It's terribly easy to be ignored either on purpose or on accident in large cities. Similar to the bystander effect, but moreso crowd psychology.

I hate doing this and do my best to avoid it but sometimes it cant be helped especially with the trade centers. I'll use Klojt for example. I have a character that calls that home and repeatedly have to send characters there for trade. Constantly juggling them so they arent there at the same time. I'm considering a major treefeather kill off of charries so hopefully wont be an issue for me in the future.

Looking at your char list and not feeling a thing.
Plus forgetting to even check your favourite char. :?

Gosh, there's yet another reason I hate Treefeather. Happened to me on several occasions - now I've got several traveling chars, and I'm just trying to keep them from running into each other.

Spending quality time in RL for an extended period is a stark contrast revealing just how unimportant Cantr really is. I've returned from several vacations and didn't want to log back in. However, guilt over perceived obligations to other characters, combined with addiction has meant I've returned every time. You can only put a drink in front of an alcoholic for so long before he'll pick it up (provided he's not allowed to leave the room). The best I can manage is to whittle and wean, whittle and wean...

Probably been said, probably by myself but:

I really really -really- hate a lack of character description.

It's like, oh hi blank character, let me just imagine what you could look like, oh wait did you just flick your hair...Hmm, I don't recall seeing any!!! (arghhhh)

When your character is living in a prison and her only hope is the town leader who feeds her. Because she feels bad for keeping her in this prison.
You have food.. But, for how long until you are desperately knocking the door and writing sad notes again to slide under the door?
It's nerve-cracking. Every single time you run out of food it could be your end.. Unless the town leader appears again for some reason to feed you..

I hate this too, is it so hard to make even a short description? I don't usually rp with characters who don't have a description, if I do start to, I'll ask them to make one, since it's no fun rping with a blank wall.

It seems kind of rude to ask someone to make a description. I can't imagine anyone wanting to hear that, unless the player didn't realize the feature existed or know how to use it.

In most cases, I will wait a few days after spawning a character to get a feel for their skills and abilities before making a description. I don't exclude characters with no description, although at times I find it to be frustrating in the sense that they leave way too much open for interpretation.

This is actually a good question to be asked to those out there who have characters with no description.

I hate the lack of description too, and there have been a lot lately. If you fish for locations and RP with newspawns, surely you are clipping your own wings if you don't have a description? True, they shouldn't mean everything, but they do mean a lot... it is a sign of your creativity, writing, the impact you intend to have on the world, be it big or small... and most importantly, it helps us see... Don't be tight.
