Well, that's why I wouldn't play one.
But it's not nice to actually say it...

You could have it so that babies can't choose their own names and it would make it so that last names and marrage actually mean something beyond RP value. Plus to get around the weakness compensation thing, implement it so that babies can't block or attack.
You see Father give baby an Iron Sheild
You see Father give baby a Saber
You see baby attack a buffalo using a saber
Father says "atta boy"
You see baby kill Mother using a saber
Father says "What are you doing?!?"
You see baby kill Father using a saber
Baby says "Muh hah hah hah ha"
The town would probably kill the baby after that, becouse think of how that baby would grow up. Also a good arguement for not implementing weapons for babies.

You could indeed. But it would be criminal and insane. Last names and marriage have exactly nothing beyond 'RP value' IRL, so why they should in Cantr is beyond me.
As for naming...the baby can call themselves what they like. They may have a hard time getting other people to call them that if their parents name them something else.

Wasn't there somewhere in the Alvin series a black girl that was once called Ugly Baby by her mother? That leaves a scar.. But it would be nice to get to name babies... *A dreamy smile* And of course when you are old enought to leave your home, you can still change your name, if you want to. But even though most people must think they suck, they still keep them out of habit. Think about the chance of passing history this way! When your characters feel touched by a great person, they name their children after them... Ok, I think I've seen that happening already, but in this case it wouldn't be no CR breach, since the parents would have actually heard of that person.

Bands of friends grow up together, and then all move on to explore together, that would be a good RP, and deaths in a group like that would be much more tramatic.

I did not read everything, but I have one character married who has not had sex, and one character engaged who probably will. I don't have children but I would like to see them in the game. That doesn't make me an idiot. I have two younger sisters, one much younger one just a little. I have a lot of little cousins, I babysat all the time. No, that doesn't make me able to understand parenting but I still want to be a parent ooc. Why not ic too? My married character would probably jump on the chance to have children if that were possible. She is in a town where a character who had a baby is around but she was not there to see it and never met the woman, so I don't play her like she knows this.
I think it would be wonderful to have children, like someone said, who age more quickly and are played by a real person. I wouldn't mind playing one of those. It would be fun to try.
As for sex ic, what does that have to do with "reproduce"? Like (Missy?) said, who knows how reproduction really occures for Cantr. It could be anything. What happens in private happens in private. And just because someone is whispering does not mean they are cheating on their spouse or having sex. My characters all prefer to speak directly to the person they are talking to if possible. I hate all the chatter when people are only talking to one other person.

In other words, you have a biological drive to have children. Completely understandable, what with being human and all.
HOWEVER, why the heck do Cantrians have a desire to have children? The biological urges are based on genetics. Are you also implementing Cantrian genetics?
To continue with the parental naming thing, I think the parents should get to make a SPECIAL name for their kids, by which they can put a geas on them. That name is completely unremovable, of course, as names are. My parents branded my last name onto my forehead when I was born.

It's intended that there will eventually be ginetics, as I understand it. (I could be mistaken, though.)

Not that effect behavior, though. Just surface features, I think.

Isn't it a bit picky to talk about such details in a game like this?
He's taking the (a bit picky, but valid) view that, in accordance with the rules and information that have been stated in cantr, cantr characters are humanoid but conform to the environment as depicted by the game.
That is:
They can't fight in any way other than striking one blow a day.
They are capable of making use of any implement or machine they may obtain.
They are incapable of eavesdropping, and have extremely good perception otherwise.
etc.
And the relevant point:
All of them come into being at age 20 with no previous life experience, and totally independant of anything other than the existance of other people in the area. That implies that at present they have no idea (except perhaps as perverse fiction) or means of reproduction.
Crawling a little out on a limb, one could therefore say that romantic and otherwise reproductively inclined RP is inconsistent with the apparent 'biology' of the cantrians, and thus OOC activity.
Of course, if and when reproduction is implemented, that logic suddenly dies...but would that change the personalities of all those characters who could never have even imagined a 'baby' before?
And this is when I'm being an interpreter

Ah, well...if that is what he meant he has a point in that Cantrians currently shouldn't want to have children, since children doesn't exist.
But I don't see it as a valid point for not implementing children at all. Sure, it can seem strange that people suddenly will want to reproduce, but the lack of logic in people popping up from nowhere is bigger than such a sudden urge.
I don't really care if people will accidently discover that they can knock people up by having sex or if everyone will make the OOC decision to suddenly act like reproduction is natural and had always been around...it is really a small problem.

We know that the animals reproduce rather than spawn because when the crocodiles in the swamp were hunted to extinction no more could appear. We don't see young animals, however. Maybe they are there but don't show up on the hunting page until they are full grown.
Assuming that the people of Cantr can see the animals reproduce then they might wonder if little Cantr people could be produced that way also. If one did suddenly appear via birth it might be a bit of a surprise but I don’t think it would be such a big mystery.
