I usually assess that on a character by character basis. :3
I know quite a few old characters that pretty much RP both sides of the story as well. Yes, they're old but that doesn't mean they can't party.
A lot of old people I know in real life are still very active during their sixties.

What about those in their 200s?

I really don't have much room to talk as one of my characters is in a relationship like that. Just sometimes it strikes me as strange. Maybe I should've not brought it up. >_>

The problem is you associate Cantr age with real life age. I see Cantrians as beings who can control their own physical aging.

Nothing wrong with mentioning it and I don't mean to berate you for it either. I guess it's something that is somewhat the fault of game mechanics. When the screen says "a woman who is very old" it's hard for our minds to comprehend the fact that the woman in question is stronger and better at every skill than when she was 21. Unless someone RPs their char as hobbling around, I don't consider "old" chars in Cantr to be feeble at all. In fact, they're probably the ones you should worry the most about kicking ass. lol

I finally figured out what's up with all the Drama Llamas. They just can't help it. Poor them... we never knew it all along, but a huge part of cantr's population is affected by this!

It must be contagious!

I don't know if I'm becoming more "zen" or if it is just that when real life gets really rough you take trivial things into perspective, but I'm noticing that some of the things that used to get me on my nerves... I'm starting to find them sort of amusing and even hilarious in some cases.

The systematic whiner, who always complains about his/her characters not getting the attention or recognition that the player thinks they deserve or about the characters around not reacting like (s)he thinks they should; the undercover drama starlette, who arrives in a town to stir crap and create drama, then moves to another town to do exactly the same... all the time complaining about the drama, both IC and OOC in some cases, in an almost poetic display of irony (guess we just have different concepts of what's cheap, premanufactured drama?); the "I-me-mine" writer who seems to get offended OOCly if you were uninterested or just in a hurry and didn't pay much attention to the 3 walls of text (s)he used to answer a question and you go right to the point skipping all the part where your character should be amazed by how cute the other character is and how mesmerized you should get at the reflection of the sunbeams in those gorgeous golden curls.

Maybe it's the meds, but today I find amusement in those and the only things that really annoy me are related to my own rp and limitations.

And this made me chuckle and bob my head. I am guilty of leaning toward long, detailed emotes but too self-conscious to use them openly except with characters who seem to like them and have a similar style and I can't imagine myself getting mad because someone doesn't bother in reading my stuff or just doesn't like it. If I was such a good writer to entertain everybody, I'd be selling books.

I used to "roleplay" more and do things like swimming etc. but nowadays I just do what comes naturally to the characters and my emotes tend to be pretty minimalistic. Some of my older characters have gone through a lot and if you see someone with cutting scars on their forearms, high chance it's my character. Things just seem more balanced nowadays. I don't experience strong emotions in real life so it doesn't reflect on my characters either.

Wow...you just summed the Drama Llama up perfectly, like I can't even. *flails* But I can't say it amuses me. It gets on my nerves every time I see them, to the point that my characters will find a convenient excuse to leave or go inside till it's been slaughtered or it's gone off to find new victims. And then I take a moment to pray for the poor sods on the other end of the road.

And admittedly, it just makes me angry that this even has to be the case. :/

I don't know why but I still remember a day from the old times , your char and mine were sitting together and sewing, it was a nice day in Klojt and there was someone playful who was making everyone laugh. I remember my char complimented on yours for having beautiful hands and yours blushed a little. Then mine played around with the other person, they both made long emotes about running on sands and swimming , unfortunately my char had to return her own town and she never came back . Nowadays that char of mine rarely catches such a moment , but still enjoys some good time when she can.

It was a very brief moment Seko, I don't know why I remember that so clearly between all the stuff happened in Cantr. It must be about her , she is around 120 now and in those days she was yery young :)

+1 - These both made me chuckle and bob. Very me and I'm never sure how many people there are out there...like me. So, thank you.
It begins with a character, usually, and once he stands up on his feet and begins to move, all I can do is trot along behind him with a paper and pencil trying to keep up long enough to put down what he says and does.

I searched for sewing in my turn reports and I think I know at least which character it was. Must've been some time in the 2700s. Funny how some things that happened 5 real life years ago can seem recent.

I wonder if it is appropriate to assume a character ignored yours when the player is too lazy/busy to read the event logs. I'm not sure, because often the character would have responded but then again I hate for these kind of characters /players to be in positions of power, and roleplaying it as being repeatedly ignored might help move them out of those positions.

Then again that kind of roleplay tends to irritate the player and then they'll find no shame in roleplaying being annoyed at your character, even though it makes no sense IC.
