My main issue right now, is how if I have characters travelling, and I make a newspawn, they spawn in my travelling characters home town. Can we please put a stop to this? -_-

Currently it's probably best not to spawn while your characters are traveling. I wish it was possible to set a home town so that you wouldn't spawn another character there even if you were out of town.

Probably a good idea, but my girl is on a fairly long resource run, figured it's safe to spawn a new one.. and then instantly groaned because of where she spawned.. horrible >_>

I think it would be better for the game if undesirable spawns could be rerolled like they never existed in the first place, because characters starving to death or killing themselves doesn't make the game any better.

At least intro Cantr should help somewhat with that. Perhaps the account should only be approved if they actually log into their character.

Don't think that is what she meant.

I think what she was saying is that when a character spawns with attributes you do not like, you should be given a chance to "redo" that character.

That would need to be limited or no one would ever be weaker than average, which would kind of spoil the whole point of 'average'.

I meant the whole spawning would be redone, so it would be location in addition to the genes. If someone liked the location but not the strength/fighting skill or vice versa, they could take the risk of rerolling or just deal with it. (Edit: Since if they liked one but not the other, they would risk not liking either one in the next life.) The amount of rerolls allowed a day could be restricted. If some people can't handle playing weak characters then I'd rather have them playing strong characters than not playing at all. Some people are just depressed of constantly losing developed characters to pirates and don't want to take the risk again.

Losing characters to pirates does suck, really, since it takes a lot of time and effort to get a character to the point where they're really engaging to play. But people's hatred of playing weak characters really puzzles me. Given the power of hit-and-drag attacks, even the strongest character has very little chance of surviving an organized attack, unless they have a crowbar, healing food, and a bunch of luck.

Still, being single-handedly dragged by a loner is more common than an organized attack.

My much stronger than average, expert fighter, who had all of the above bar luck, died in seconds. He was hit by two expert fighters, and by the time I clicked on inventory after the first hit and tried to make him eat some honey, I got the error message saying I tried to play a dead character. So being online at the time was no help at all.

Also... My favourite character is weaker than average.

3/4 of my characters are much weaker than average and the other is only average. But it is fairly realistic that if a couple of people get good hits on you with battle axes there's not gonna be anything can save you.

Is it true? Has it really happened recently?

I had a character spawn on day 4187 that would fall into this situation. Fortunately the original character had no intention of returning to the town. Unsure of the time period between the original character leaving town until the new spawn arrived. I would guess somewhere between 10-20 days so it could have caused an issue, but didn't.
