I can't say any names yet, but I wanted to post this as a reminder to myself in four days.

Someone's account that idled out..... their characters will be very much missed. I had no idea I was around so many of them. One of my characters in particular is absolutely devastated. :( It's such a shame to see a player go who made such an impact on so many lives in game. I hope the player left by choice and not for any bad things going on in their real life. I hope they're well, though they will be missed.

It's been 4 in-game days though it doesn't feel like it. I don't think I'd normally mention mine... especially since this one had such a small (if any) impact in the green world. However, it was my first character death, and.... I really have to mention Ryleigh Alyssa for one reason.

Dempsey's player... you did a phenomenal job role playing the events surrounding her death. Dempsey could not have been more kind in her last few days. It was the most kindness she had received in all her life..... and though she concluded she was indeed retarded..... she died happily because of his efforts. I do not think that my first cantr death could have been a more positive experience. Mine and Ryleigh's hearts were melted, and I am certain she finally found happiness.

Thank you. Missing out on the opportunity to interact with Dempsey is my only regret.

Yes, for a few days he wasn't, but now he's been buried.

I'm not sure. I don't think so - the town was swept by a wave of sleeping sickness.

Looking through my turn reports I was surprised how long ago this happened. I guess it's not really sensitive so I'll post what I found the day he was buried:
4340-4: Rebecca Brooks (a woman in her sixties) says: "*She slowly starts to bury Jack, weeping as she digs*"
4340-2: Boneman (a man who is very old) says: "Jack, yeu old one.*sighs*"

And of course there were other comments made before that, but things were kind of sleepy.

Okay, so five days ago, someone's account unsubbed. I only know of four of the characters who were victims of this lost account:

L of Pok Desert West - He was a pretty quiet guy (and a very hard worker) until he met Kaelynn. They hit it off and within days, they were regularly doing stuff together inseparably. He's left her a very distressed and sorrowful woman, who is hurt to see his passing after all of their couple's activities and plans for their future.

Jenny of Blojt - though I never met her with any of my characters, I know Kermit is very depressed about her departure from the green world. He was madly in love with her and waiting for her to return to the wakeful world.

Elbereth of Amsterdam - I only witnessed this departure with a newspawn. I know nothing of him, other than he was a beloved citizen because he was a 'natural' inhabitant for a town trying to get up off its feet.

And the one I actually knew.....

Dorin of Freedomland - Dorin was.... the heart and soul of one of my characters. A religious man, he found my character on the road and offered to follow her and keep her company as long as they were moving in the same direction.... because 'a lady should not travel alone and unprotected'. When he realized the nature of her disability, he became her leader and best friend. He took care of her, helped her work with her shortcomings, and healed many things that were wrong with her. He was loyal, determined, and had a life plan for the both of them. Although they never even got past holding hands, they loved each like old souls who had spent decades together. The fact that he earned both her trust and love was an incredible feat. He stayed awake enough to bring her to a good place where they'd live that picket-fence life.... and when he reached the place he could live his dream... he got the sleeping sickness. His last interaction with her was to promise her he'd always wake up for her, and he wrote a darling note about his love for her, so that she'd never forget. I knew his death was coming, but it didn't hurt any less. Even if my "woman"'s disability keeps her from remembering the particular details..... there will always be some hole in her heart. I'm not so sure she will survive, but if she does.... she could never do better than her "man".

Dan Geist

He spawned in Midgar with big dreams and set out to find his own way with a lot of help from Dunder (R.I.P).. ended up settling in Long Beach with Ranger and Odd. For the years before Dunder's kidnapping he did stuff to help both places and settled at the beach. It was always a close knit group of good people and I hope it continues to grow... it was a hard decision to let him go (for RL/time reasons), and I only did when I knew there were characters strong enough to take the helm, and there definitely are.

Will miss you all, Long Beach! Keep the beach bum vibe alive..

Arran Eyre

Loyal work horse of the United Shield, ran the workshop in Sjoftich Hills for many years as the then leader spent all his time behind closed doors. Eventually got disheartened and left when he felt his calling was to prevent a suicide. Built a ship and went sailing for years to get away, eventually getting tangled up with Jordan and her crew in more ways than one, fought some duels, had some fun and then ended up murdering the very woman he saved. A descent into darkness that I had to let go too.. It was interesting.

I figured you might be behind Dan (I'd narrowed you down to him or one other character there at least). He's very much missed, by me as much as my character, and for a long time he was a major part of what kept me playing while circumstances made all of my other characters boring or difficult.

I was sent the logs by someone else who I'd never met before today... I'll PM you with my guess! Keep the place going! Build me a statue! Ha.. (I'm joking. )

Lacy.
She spawned in Olip West and traveled along the coast. She met a few people here and there but wasn't overly interactive.

Leola of Bhak.

She was fairly quiet, only finding joy when she was travelling with Redgar. But she soon fell victim to the sleeping sickness that had taken over the town until she finally starved herself.
Oh look, another glorious morning… makes me SICK!
