Well most jailbreaks require outside help. So this would also make rescue operations possible. Would add a nice touch to things.

I think destroying something should be a project rather than a one off action like attacking.

I like the idea of knocking holes in walls, perhaps then we could have to option to repair them as well?

here's part of a post I made to the Yahoo! boards several months ago about buildings:

Destroying Buildings

Buildings ought ot be able to be torn down, this includes barricades/gatehouses. You would not be able to tear down a building with your bare hands and would reuire a tool suitable to the material.

for example:

earth- shovel, pickaxe etc

wood- any axe, sledgehammer, any saw...

stone- sledgehammer, pickaxe...

It would take some time to tear down the building depandant on the size and material. It will not take as long to destroy as build as it is easier to destroy than build, but it will not be done in a couple of days.

Just some ideas.
Looking forward to the constructive critisism.

Yes...everything should be able to brake.

These things result in so much more than just being able to tear down stuff...it also opens up for a lot of different careers, where people with the right tools can earn a living as repairmen...or women :)

ah... yes we wouldn't want to forget about Jennifer Lopez's house... or the timeless "Penis Fairy"... such pillars of Cantr civilization must stand for time memorial...

Maybe buildings in construction (as in not yet built yet) that have materials and everything, could be dissassembled by the person who started the project if it isn't completely built yet? If there has been no work done on it, all the materials would be returned, if there has been work on it, then only a portion of the materials used would be returned. Say the building was 25% done, and the project starter chose to destroy it instead, then 75% of the materials used would be returned. If it were 80% done, then only 20% of the materials would be returned, and so on. It would be a whole project to dissassemble/destroy it, and the person to start destroying would have to also be the person who started building it, though others could help with that as well.

Perhaps buildings should have hit points and only be allowed to be destroyed with a sledgehammer like someone earlier suggested. Also it should probably take like 60 hits or more to bring down a building. That way a building won't just be knocked down by some stupid idiot, it would take a long time to bring it down so it would be noticed, and it would require an item that some newspawn wouldn't be able to acquire easily.

HEY!!! ITS AN OLD POST THAT LIVES!!!

Ok.. so lets just put doun our ideas..

My idea is to have sertain wepons being able to distroy a building.

Such as.. sledgehammer. Hammer. File.

And a new one.. THE TORCH!! only works one time.. and starts a fire on a house.. takes 10grams of hide.. and 50 grams of wood.. three days to make..
and a message will come up saying..

167394 3 you se a man in his twentys trying to set the (buildings name) on fire.

It would also need to be repaired, at a rate comparable to how long it takes to build the building, however no other tools would be required, since all the materials would presumable still be sitting there on the ground after being knocked off the building.
