I'm envious, Kinny. Have a good trip!

Who mows at 0630??? If I wasn't up for work, I'd be irritated. I'm not sure how much of an issue I want to raise about it but there's got to be some noise ordinance here.

Its that time again when most of us think we have a day off for BBQ and family laziness.

For me its about family of a different kind.
----------------------------------------
I want to spend this weekend and every day of whats left of this short life thanking the soldiers and their families for their sacrifices...

Those who spent days on end with their faces down in a mud puddle.
....And those who gave everything,
their very lives.

All of this for crummy pay, nights spent without families, children and spouses.
All for shiet pay.

It seems so unworthy of me to lift a beer and a prayer to these heroes,
yet it is all I have to give.

You gave and are still giving so much more.

Salutations my brothers and sisters, may history never forget your names and sacrifices.

I feel weird making such a personal post here while I'm still new, but I have the urge to climb mountains and announce to the world and there aren't any mountains around so this will have to do.

I actually feel good. It doesn't sound like something super important, but between my brain regularly trying to kill me and the fact I just got over being pretty sick, this is an accomplishment. The fact that it's because of exercise is even more so. Throughout my entire school career PE was the bane of my existence- my body's always been a little messed up but nothing my doctors could pin down, so I've always been weak and easily tired but it wasn't enough for my instructors to ever cut me any slack over (no official diagnoses = no doctor's note). If I walked most of my mile it was because I was lazy and afraid of hard work instead of because my heart felt like it was going to explode, I had to fight to breathe, and everything tasted vaguely of copper. And if I complained about any of this I got the "no pain no gain" speech. Because apparently wanting a mercy kill is a desirable experience! So I've always regarded people who tell me they enjoy exercise or talk about how great they feel after working out as a special kind of socially-acceptable masochism. Add that to the constant barrage of "exercise more!" advice I get for my depression/insomnia and... well, sometimes just the mention is enough to get me upset a lot of the time.

Due to insurance shenanigans I recently got a new doctor and finally decided to bring up a lot of the health problems we couldn't do anything about when I was a kid that I'd just coped with, sometimes barely. Because hey, you never know. Maybe this doctor knows more about this stuff, or there's tests they can do now that they couldn't then, or maybe they'll just take me seriously now that I'm an adult. Dunno which it was, but we've been doing blood tests and an ultrasound on my liver, and most importantly an X-ray on my back.

I have a very, very slight curvature to my lower spine, small enough that in a normal exam it's invisible. Pretty much impossible to see without an X-ray, but enough that it causes me pain on a daily basis. Queue choir of angels at the discovery, because now I'm in physical therapy. It won't fix it, but it's supposed to help a bunch of muscle groups that'll make up for it. The pain probably won't go away completely but it'll be low enough that I can actually bend/twist without everything lighting up like a christmas tree made of suck. Also I'll be able to work on other parts with less pain! Yay!

I didn't know what to expect and was really nervous thanks to my previous experience with exercise, especially seeing a lot of standard workout equipment that had been the bane of my existence for so long. The exercises were really simple and I felt kind of bad that I wore out so quick, but while I'm exhausted and kind of sore I don't feel like I got hit by a truck that proceeded to back up and run me over again a good few times, which is usually how I feel after working out.

And it's... it's good. I feel accomplished, my physical therapist didn't have stupidly high expectations of what I should be capable of, people are actually listening when I say something's wrong, and I might actually get better instead of eating OTC painkillers like candy and slogging through an achy existence.

I'm so happy I could cry.

Haven't been sleeping properly again so running on 2 hours in 48 maybe more.
No caffeine allowed and I have work tonight. Joy.

Can I just remind people that when you go out for a meal your waitress is a real person, with real emotions. If they've given you horrific service and not apologised or had your bill fixed to represent this then complain to their manager, don't go screaming in their face about how shit they've been, you don't know them and although they shouldn't bring their private lives through the door your one 5 minute rage to make you feel better could cause a lifetime of damage. Can we all just take a minute to remember we live in a world of other human beings who we should respect - regardless.

I'm currently blown away.. 9 or 10 years ago when I first played (As TheTheorist) I spawned a quiet little thinker called LeSantyr.

I have just seen his original vision of Akypor displayed pride of place at the top of the town noticeboard. I had never noticed it before now. So.. thank you all, for keeping that going. I feel a bit proud.

I love this game.

That's really great news! Kind of like living in a cell your whole life, then finding the door open one day and discovering the world beyond. If you can afford it, I would find a personal trainer to pick up when your PT runs out.

Akypor folks tend to be quite proud of their heritage as an ancient and industrious city. If your character is still in Akypor, you should check out the lighthouse where art from a festival in the late 3000's is still displayed, and the church where the names of most of Akypor's decesaed citizens passed on are still kept. Akypor seems to do more of that sort of "remembering the past" thing than most places, and I think it's kind of cool. It's certainly interesting as a newer player to the game to see some of the older stuff, since I didn't play in the earlier years.

Yes! That's pretty much exactly how it feels. I don't know if a personal trainer is a thing that would be viable for me, but a lot of my PT exercises are really simple stuff that I can keep doing at home so there's that.

I'm still delightfully sore and I go in again today. I'm... actually looking forward to it, which is a weird feeling.

Still can't believe what happened to me last night.. I was out with some friends, eating, drinking.. When I come home I realize I had forgotten my keys  So I try to wake up my boyfriend.. no response from him, but managed to wake the whole neighbourhood.. Then I decided after more than 45 minutes I could better try something else, feeling pretty bold after a some beers I decided to break into my own house.. Managed to climb up a balcony, standing on a table and a chair. (I knew the door was open there) Then after 15 minutes being inside I hear some noises in the garden with bright lights waving about.. Neighbours had called the police!

I saw Maleficent tonight, and I couldn't shake the thought that she was really Laila Moreno, from the way she speaks to the way that she's completely walled-off emotionally (with very good reason), and the manner in which she fiercely protects her own. The mud-throwing scene where she accidentally gets spattered could have easily taken place in Omeo (substitute snow).

A tremendous movie, btw. I highly recommend it.

Digging and burying are separate skills? :?

I have a character who is horrible at digging, yet an expert when it comes to digging graves. Creepy.
