Re: Sim Praise
Just going from my own experience sometimes playing one of those overly talkative 'big ideas' people, believe me I REALLY appreciate the people who are content to just work. They're never going to go running off with some big idea of their own, and when the drama starts up they're the only ones you can rely on to stay focused and get things done.

On that note:
Vaughn and Era, Keystone Mountains never stops because of you two! Big love.
Pyvao, Zuzi - Never see him idle, Mona, you owe him.
BB/Berry Brown, Fu - Keeping going to keep us going.
And just wanted to put a mention out to Keerich and the years I watched him do the thankless task of feeding a desert full of sleepers. RIP!

Elijah in Moku. Always making sure (one way or the other) that things develop. Good playing!

Re: Sim Praise
I want to praise absolutely everyone in Klojt. I have this weird thing with Klojt. See, I've never been there, never had a character even travel to within a road's journey of the place. Yet somehow, I have a few different characters who absolutely cannot seem to get away from the sphere of influence of that great city. Traders across the island keep coming and going, running into different characters of mine. Radio chatter involves Klojt in some way more often than not. The currency somehow ends up everywhere, in trades on different islands for crying out loud.
Whatever is going on over there, it is working. Keep doing whatever you're doing, you beautiful simmers.

When it's simming and not insufferable drama, yes. Very much. I'm a little nostalgic for how Klojt was a couple of years ago, but that's probably just me wearing rose tinted glasses, haha. And wishing I could rip out windows when I feel like it.

Re: Sim Praise
I second the props of Klojt praise on the economic side. The drama comes and goes, and the RP comes and goes there as well.
I'm going to add John Freeman to my sim praise as well. He's a rather quiet town leader, but I think he does a good job of helping to enable his citizens when he can.

Re: Sim Praise
You don't know the half of all the drama that goes on in closed circles, and that's probably for the best. The radio fight with Avery was an exception of drama spilling out, but in hindsight, it was actually pretty refreshing.

Re: Sim Praise
I actually think Klojt isn't that bad, dramawise. First, considering the size of the town, and second, because I've seen so much worse. Honestly, maybe that's because one of my chars is in that "closed circle"...

Re: Sim Praise
Deeply agreed. From what I can estimate, based on its sheer influence... Klojt must have over a dozen semi-active people at any given time outside. I can't see any other possible way that they have as much reach as they do, if they were a town, of say, five very active and ten sleepers. Given that I'm often in the area with a few different chars, I have to say, their radio chatter is mostly professional and helpful, not the usual stupid petty drama nonsense you get broadcasted to every corner, as though everybody needs to know about your latest breakup (goddamn people, seriously, there oughta be in-game laws about this stuff). Seems like the place to be.
Also want to praise the latest pirate hunters. Yeah, I know, 4-day rule and all, but... I'm being so pointlessly vague that honestly this could apply to so many events that it's meaningless. But yes, certain people deserve praise for their swift coordination and cooperation in tracking down a certain target who otherwise could have easily gotten away. Well done.

Re: Sim Praise
I guess she would be considered a simmer....
Just going to throw out praise for Hannah of Brunoi Hills West. The woman has been there for years, supportive, wakeful now and then but only known that she is because she moves from project to project helping Avery and the town. Rarely does she speak up but she's always working. Hannah, you are awesome and appreciated.

Cheers to Samanya. She literally has a town full of sleepers to take care of (with the exception of my character and a semi-awake person), and she does it very well. I don't think that I would have the patience for that. On top of this, she still has an interesting character and is fun to interact with. Way to go!

Yes yes, she's definitely praiseworthy. My character adores her.

Re: Sim Praise
I've been wanting to praise a few of the residents of Brunoi for a while.
First of all is Keith Blackmoon, whom I had intended to use as an example to illustrate how someone can be worthy of both sim praise, and RP praise. He's a complex character, one that took me several cantr years to even begin to pick up on. His respect for the dead runs deep, but his general quietness makes this very subtle. But the effect he's had on the town is to make the culture there into one that respects the dead as a matter of duty, rather than burying them for cleanliness like in most places.
The second is Rae, which I believe is short for Rachael. She built up a medicinal business basically from scratch, to start with, which was lots of fun to watch and participate in, and it will be interesting to see where that goes. But THEN she went ahead and revolutionized the Brunoi economy with her latest bit of industry. It's nice to see the town move forward like it does, after assuming that it had become about as successful and complete as a town could. I guess there's always something that can be built up.
And finally, for this round, Vako, who's also a very strong personality. He keeps the town running through cheerfully and wakefully contributing labor, and thus making possible everyone else's ambitions; at least, when he's not secretly participating in (and possibly causing, but I have no proof) town drama.

Re: Sim Praise
Just looked over the thread and I wanted to be clear, the point of this thread is to praise feats of simulation, accomplished with or without RP. It does not matter if they are a tireless robot or a love machine with all the fancy relationship drama, as long they manage to simulate something well (using hard coded in game mechanics) then they deserve a place here.
