Huh.
I just had a thought.
If we could make really interesting buildings, like with pillars and all kinds of customizable parts that would be added in (good windows, types of floors, lights, etc), there'd be a demand for good builders. Same with furniture.

I guess I haven't seen any of the tailors taking advantage of the custom descriptions so far. More often then not I see individuals making clothes for themselves, bypassing the tailor so they can exactly describe what they want an outfit to look like. Maybe once people become more established and something like luxury brands become popular and take over. For now I'll continue to be pessimistic.

I have a tailor and she does indeed take advantage of the custom descriptions =P making things longer or differently shaped than the original description, or specifying what kind of buttons she used on the garment. Most of my characters I'm trying to do that with, just, she's the only one who's actually an official tailor. And one girl so far did ask her to make her some things, and she made them custom for her, it was nice, it made my character feel important and more talented.

I'm new and there's so much history to learn, but has a purely naval civilization been done before? Like no real cities or towns, but a coalition of ships who all share a culture/morals/belief set?

People forced to live together through an affliction? Such as leprosy, vampirism, cannibalism or just outcasts. Noniwrok had some nice bands of outcasts at one point, until.. *grumble grumble*

I would like to see more tourettes. Played well..

I know what you mean. Of course.. If sailing wasn't so slow, it would be neat to make one of the islands around New Haven/Sanctum Isles a place for that. Ship them and dump them there. Take them food from time to time to trade for the diamonds or whatever. They could never get off the island without a boat and there isn't any wood there so they would be true outcasts there. Maybe make it a super high security prison. The bandits and law breakers could fight amongst themselves if they get sent there.

That would totally suck though.

That would be incredible. I wonder how many would commit suicide and how many would try to kill everybody else, and how many would try to get everybody together to jump the next ship, which, if successful, would result in a huge mess as people try to drag others out and get onboard.

Haha! A Cantrian version of Alcatraz Prison? Each ship would have to be heavily manned and locked with lots of healing foods when they take the prisoners. Or the prisoners could be brought to the near death state before being taken to ensure they have no crowbars.. That could be an easy fix to ensure safety to the sailors on the ships.

Of course, if they all beat up one guy to NDS or just really badly, you've got a serious hostage situation on your hands...

A make up artist.
A face surgeon.
A celebrity.
Bodyguards for hire.
A Company that goes island wide and then spreads it influence to the other islands.

Most interestingly.... A Country. Imagine the whole Treefeather Island unifying and forming a country. Then there would be lots more business opportunity, foreign exchange values, immigration, passports, a water transportation company and to go out of the country you eed a passport.

I'm thinking too much.

Imagine one day there would be.. hemp loin clothes, bras, and socks. Only the true hardcore would wear them and feel "comfortable".

Well, I've met a character that is a bodyguard, but he offers many other services as well. Also, Teregotha is a unified country, but it's only five towns. It would be awesome to see a large-scale island do the same.

Our characters have vastly different definitions of what "unified country " means. Considering every attempt at forming a "country" there has been vigorously rebuffed over the last 30 years, there are 5 town leaders there that would disagree with you. I would also dispute the "unified" part of that as well, given the events of the last 4 years or so.

I would love to see traveling bards/musicians. People going from place to place simply to sing in different gigs. Or they could be artists. Or even groups of people going town to town to put on choreographed plays... How awesome would that be? Sit back with tea and popcorn to watch a group of people perform a show for you? Especially if it could be something based on history within Cantr or just something original made up by an actual player just for the characters.
