Hopefully we shall encounter each other eventually then, though with my single character it is unlikely.

Reviving this topic because I started wondering, has anyone ever played a character who had cerebral palsy? I'm interested because my mom has that in real life.

I've recently made a character with Hemophilia or Von Willebrand disease. Easy bruising, excessive bleeding from lack of clotting, nose bleeds, internal bleeding. I'm surprised no one else has done it. It would be sure to be a scary thing for a character/s to go through or deal with because how would they know what disease it is? It would look to most like a curse. :P

I've met two hemophiliac characters and enjoyed deeply one of them. One was Spanish and the other one I can't remember if Dutch or German.

Why is *every single* manufacturing endeavor town owned? People just mindlessly work for the town, because all the prices are so set it's ridiculous - there's no opportunity to bargain or try to undercut your (nonexistent) competition, and if you even bring it up, you get looked at funny at best, passed over or completely ignored at worst (and most often).

Kickingjay, do your best to get into the magic circle. :P
Also, the post about royalty made me laugh. My Queen does exactly that, the prisoners have to work, or starve. No outright killing.

If you don't like the trade offered, go to a different town. It's pretty common economics. A town where the supply is high, demand is low, or they just don't care will be harder to bargain with than a town in need. Many towns have set rates and it may depend on the character handling the trade whether they want to haggle or not.

There are plenty of people who attempt private businesses, and most towns are happy to allow them. Tailoring is the best thing to pursue as a private business owner, since it is so uncommon for towns to have huge surpluses of clothes in stock.

The problem with tailoring is that their is such an inconsistent demand for your services, once someone completes their dream outfit they wear it for the rest of their life. In addition even if you manage to secure a large market the consumers all want a huge range of products, they want to dress like a business executive when all you have are luxurious fur robes (for example).

I think the custom descriptions have helped a lot with this, tailors who do it for a living can design custom outfits. One can make what was an ordinary dress a business outfit, or something flashy or exotic. Plus this means people will want more clothes to choose from in their possession, and they'll be more creative.

I actually believe tailoring is an underrated profession in game. A tailor has so much influence, if opportunities are properly taken advantage of. I'd expect each person to require only one outfit, but would want at least three separate outfits, minimum. One for day to day. One for rain. One of winter. Not even counting formal attire. Or swim wear. I suppose the trick is selling need vs. want.

I have a couple that are totally into fashion. One of mind is dressed entirely in silk with the silk top, skirt, lingerie, stockings and even the garter. Everything but the shoes which are made of glass and feathers, though she has silk slippers too. But she wants lots of other things too so she can dress up in different outfits all the time and stuff.

I think it is the same as the cooks. People can survive on potatoes but it doesn't mean they want to all the time.

Yeah, but clothing's more valued than food, because it's hard to show off food.
Huh.
I just had a thought.
If we could make really interesting buildings, like with pillars and all kinds of customizable parts that would be added in (good windows, types of floors, lights, etc), there'd be a demand for good builders. Same with furniture.
