When someone dies...

Postby rklenseth » Wed Oct 13, 2004 2:56 am

...all the objects (weapons, tools, notes, resources, etc...) should stay on the body like the clothes do and should have the ability to be buried with the body.

Also, objects should also be able to be placed on a body. Like burying someone with dress clothes or maybe even mumifying someone.

Coffins:

Can we make coffins so that maybe bodies (or even other objects) be palced in them and burried? Perhaps coffins could even remain unburied and placed in a tomb of some such.

make it so that you could bury containers and you could put bodies in containers

I don't think a body would fit in a small chest or pouch.....well, at least not whole.

Cremation? Have the option to burn a body in a large kiln(if there is one) or even an oven.

a woman in her thirties says: "I can make it fit. Just hand me your axe."

Heck, you could even just drag it onto a firepit. Then when the burning project is complete you have ashes.

Project burning Devon Dobbs is complete (ending in 50g of ashes or so)

If the ashes are dropped on the ground, they could deteriorate like food and other stuff (scattering the ashes). If you put them in a container, you can carry them around with you and mourn over the box occasionally (like an urn). Brings a whole new meaning of devotion. There is love after death. And then, if burying of objects is implemented, you could bury the ashes when you are done carrying them around.

Hey, it might work, this isn't just the vicodin talking.

I just want to say that i just passed through the place that my one character died and the person there with him left a nice note remembering him and the others that died there. Now that is impressive. I think things like that are very important in Cantr. Well I thought it was nice.

Hasn't this been suggested before? Well whatever, it's a great idea anyway. Since at the moment if two people drop dead at one time, no one can tell which stuff belonged to who and there may be even stuff from old projects mixed up with that. A total mess. That just doesn't make sense.

Does the 'look' button for dead bodies do anything? There seems to be the foundation of a page where you can see what's on the body, but there's never anything there...

When you look at a dead body, you see any clothing they were wearing when they died. All this time you've been looking at naked dead bodies. Unnerving much?
Reality was never my strong point.

there are certain items which appear in this page if the body has them o them. it would be good if all posetions appeared on this screen but so you'd have to search a body to get the items back instead of most things just hitting the deck
would make it easier to spot who's robbing the dead

I don't mind naked bodies... Cantr's full of them anyway...

It would really be good if all possesions were on that screen though. I've never seen what happens in Cantr if someone takes clothes from that screeen - can you? Does it send a message that indicates someone is taking something from a body? That would be really good if all possesions were included...

Yes there is. But seems like most of the dead were naked since I remember seeing somebody actually taking clothes from a corpse only a few times. So no wonder you haven't come across it.

If you can put a person in a coffin along with all their stuff and bury them, then I want to see a grave icon there on the 'buildings and vehicles' list and have the option of digging that person back up with a shovel. :D

That too was suggested. I think with the whole Grid thing.
