I understand storms in Summer. Thunderstorms happen in summer all the time. The weather I don't understand is snow in Summer. I have had a character or two have snow in Summer. That one is much stranger to me.

Snow in summer isn't weird, if you're in the mountains...

Also, I wasn't puzzled about the summer, more about the light wind :P

How I see that is that a storm can be huge and spread across multiple areas, but the full on storm has not reached your location. You're just on the edge of said storm. xD What I DON'T understand is how is some locations, it rains the whole of summer. The WHOLE time. That's not natural. Rain requires heat to form in clouds, and that amount of rain requires a lot of very sunny days.

And you claim to be from the UK? That sounds just like the great British summer to me.

I actually come from South Africa. xD I'm just temporarily living in the UK. The last summer I spent in the UK was actually bloody hot, I had heat stroke twice. Where I come from, sure it rains in summer, but there has to be some really warm days before hand.

Some places only have two seasons: wet and dry. I lived in Panama for 9 months. It didn't rain all day every day during the wet season but it seemed we got at least one downpour every day. You could almost set a clock to it. If I left work at a certain time, I'd catch the break after the 3-3:45pm downpour and get to my dorm room with enough time to brew a pot of coffee then stand on the balcony and count how many car alarms got set off by thunder during the 4:30pm shower.

Lol xD I find that image hilarious. I used to live on the coast, and our weather had serious mood swing issues all year. You'd wake up in the morning and it would be raining and freezing. So we'd dress in the warmest clothes we've got and head to where we need to go. It was guaranteed that more often than not, but the time we got there the sun would suddenly come out of nowhere and we'd be boiling in our winter gear.

Overheard someone whispering an emote/action this morning :/ It should be impossible to 'whisper' actions when there's a dozen people standing around you unless you've put a blanket over your head with the person you're whispering to. Which would look rather strange.

Also, if people can overhear you whispering from a different building you're doing it wrong :P Not something the players have any control over though and that's more of a puzzlement than an annoyance.

I don't completely agree that you shouldn't be able to whisper an emote/action. I didn't do it often, but occasionally I'd whisper something like *looks around to make sure no one is looking then quickly places a kiss on her cheek*, it makes it a realistic 'whisper action' especially if they're in a building with an open window. If someone overhears it, well, we all know in life that we sometimes think we're doing something secretly but we can't look in all directions at one time and sometimes get caught.

I'll do little actions- or things that might not attract too much attention.

I agree that things like moving towards someone, a passionate kiss, or hugs- dances- those are all fairly big gestures.
But once those are done? Once I've already got characters hugging, I'll whisper a kiss on the cheek, or discrete glance or expression. I sort of assume their closeness shields the action from view?

Likewise if my character is indoors, and the potential audience is outdoors? I assume a little more freedom based on window framing and might whisper something like playing footsies.

I agree if it's something your character is deliberately doing very subtly whispering's a great way to go about it (unless it'd be in character to do a terrible job at subtlety). I was perhaps making a bit of an overly broad statement there. There are limits though, on what could sensibly be expected to go unnoticed, especially in a town with lots of people working quietly - lots of eyes and not much to distract them from the whisperers.

So my complaint should probably just be condensed to 'people whispering actions in contexts where logically the action would be very unlikely to go unnoticed'.

You mean like boning each other? I personally think that whispers should be much more likely to be overheard - something like 1/10 chance, so that if you really don't to be overheard, you would go to an empty building or step onto a road. I just... don't see any downsides of making whispers more overheard.

The day overhearing whispers was implemented, I had a town leader say (mostly out of frustration) something along the lines of "I swear, if I don't get a straight answer soon, there'll be blood." Likely a more diplomatic version of it- A minute later both of the men in question were down the road and half of the town was staring at her.

I don't mind that it was overheard- but that it was overheard by so many at once seemed a little odd? She tended to get quieter when upset, not louder. Perhaps they were crowding her?

I guess it would include that, though that's not what I thought of. I was mostly thinking of RP that if you said it out loud you would say in the same chunk of text as actual speech, and when people whisper that speech (because they're trying not to argue in front of the kids or they don't want to announce to the whole town the details of their trade or whatever) they don't bother to do the RP out loud even if it's something that should be very overt.

I wouldn't object to whispers being more overhearable, but then I can't remember the last time I had cause to whisper anything - my characters are young and they've not got much drama to hide yet.

I figure overhearing usually happens when a gust of wind happens to carry the speaker's voice further than they expected, or the weather or animals or a piece of machinery quietens suddenly when they were whispering just above the noise, so lots of people can hear for one of those reasons.

When overhearing was first implemented, there was no cap per location, so the more people, the more likely it was for someone to overhear. The Polish complained and some people even threatened to quit, so a location based cap was quickly introduced.
