Ah, when you say Maroon you really mean it! Masks are great for stuff like this, as you found. I like using adjustment layers with masks, specifically. As for the eyes, actually, they were pretty much like that already, just not as noticeably! I added a touch of yellow to their already present color, and the brightness popped out. Basically just convenient luck.
But I am pleased about the result . I think I could fix some mistakes I did during the remake but it has been few days since I am working on it . Also mouse is a very unfamilar tool for a traditional artist. I hope you like.
