Considering that battle axes are better than stone axes for chopping wood in a forest, could we please let battle axes also count as axes for vehicle disassembling?

It's not possible.

Okay... Before I take the time to make a stone axe then, will that work or must it be an "axe", with steel and everything?

And if a stone axe does work, what makes a battle axe impossible?

A stone axe does work ;) at least for the wooden cart, but I suspect for the boats as well...

Tool groups are set globally, so changing group for, let's say, battle axe or 3/4 axe, can have unexpected consequences.
Well, tool groups are just side effect of something that is almost like object name.
It's rather complicated and just changing it may cause hidden and unpredictable problems elsewhere. I'm usually not touching things I don't know, and that's why I wouldn't like to touch it.

Steel, bronze or stone axe can be used.

Sure seems like at least a couple of people are putting those optional heart attacks to use. Be nice if they used the time while they were waiting to RP it a little though so it wouldn't be such a shock.

Hasn't effected me personally yet but it sounds like a character that mine really likes is in for some really bad news when she makes it home. :(

I've not seen anyone put that to use in game yet myself. I expected to see a lot more around my characters.

I've noticed the roads are "brand new now"

I dont look forward to this. Bad enough to spend so much time repairing tools now the roads and assume buildings to come. So much for advancement.

Yeah no...I don't have time for nonsense like road repairs while I've got tool repairs and a laundry list of other things to do. My chickens will starve!

I think roads better than paved roads could need some maintenance now and then. :) But not at an extreme rate.

Nope.
Deterioration level for roads is needed to implement railroads, which should deteriorate and require maintenance.

Now THAT's going to be interesting, thanks a lot!

Pretty much off-topic, but I was checking the Wiki, and saw that paved roads need sand, stone and oil (I imagined them as something like roman-style roads), shouldn't they only need sand and stone?

Cantr II is not to be confused with the real world. :) This is one of many things in Cantr II that differs from IRL just to have a reasonable in-game technology ladder.
