Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
Sure, but I think what Mitch is hinting at is that, when people do jump into the fight, it's more often than not against the group that has wronged their other character in the past, and that for players that know who plays those characters, it appears to be transparent ooc bias.

But what if the character is doing it because the town leader has made the decision and the character goes along with what the leader says? I sort of have an idea of one of the characters Mitch is talking about, but he's not doing it for OOC reasons.

That seems to happen often. Either with groups like those mentioned or even individuals. I saw a situation not too long ago where a person rumored or known to be a pirate in other parts of the world arrived at a town and people started being suspicious of them when they had no reason to. Certainly wasn't fair to that suspected pirate's player.

I know, I was joking. It just seemed like you were kind of pissed off by those vague, non-specific events though, and I assume other people might be too. And I've definitely seen examples of what you mean. Then again it could be that people are just starved for conflict in a game that otherwise pretty much completely discourages it, and so when they have an excuse to run with the pack they will. Anybody remember the whole incident with Moku North and that Polish crew awhile back and the mob mentality it triggered?
That might also explain why the only organizations that ever seem to get really popular are territorial and kind of violent...or at least I've never seen any groups of the size or longevity of the Blackrocks or Stone Knights with all of its members dedicated to peaceful diplomacy or healing or whatever instead. Again, it gives people an outlet to play a more aggressive character and be part of a community that approves of their actions at the same time.

This is exactly my point, yes. I'm not talking about the ones that jump in because it's fun and maybe yes it's a bit ooc'ish, just because they're looking to enjoy a fight lol Hell I do that and I'm having fun with current events. I'm talking about those that do so clearly for ooc bias and ooc revenge. THAT is what irritates me. A lot of you know my characters. you KNOW some of mine LOVE the fight. So I understand that. Its the others that irritate me.
And for the record, this is by no means an "attack" on any one character or player. It's a generalized statment that has come up due to certain events yes, But I see this all the time. Not just during current ongoing happenings. And it happens for all sorts of groups throughout the game.

I understand why Mitch79 can feel that way, but the part forgotten is that some characters have very big mouths so it's pretty easy for them to make enemies quickly so it shouldn't be a surprise when they end up in conflict, and I swear I have no characters involved in any events that we aren't speaking about because of the four day rule, but do have an ear on the radio.

It shouldn't come as any surprise but.... Chars that are awesome until they gain a little "wealth" then suddenly become total douches. I suppose that coincides with RL but it's still disappointing.

I despise when I/my character(s) feel like the cumulative intelligence of the entire town is less than a sock because there are too many "silly" characters in one area.

I've always assumed that charcoal was a second-class coal, considering the amounts needed for cooking for the tandoor or smelting metals (I was going to add a coment about the higher quality of mineral coal when it comes to combustion power, but I'll keep it to myself
).
Anyway, I just saw that the new dishes for the tandoor (Beef wellington and meatloaf) require equal amounts of charcoal and coal, and in top of that, charring bones into bone ash require either 100 grams of coal or 25 grams of charcoal, which is a difference way bigger regarding combustion power than the one it used to exist (It didn't even reach 2:1), and it's the other way around (i.e charcoal being better than coal). Is this intended?

Spawning where there aren't but two players in my language, and no food.
At least I have another character queued up to die soon.

No food is a problem of course. But it can be very interesting spawning where you don't understand the language. One of mine did and learned to communicate and had a good time there the first 15 years of her life. It takes some effort though.

Mine will probably die, I have little patience for learning.
