Change to the one hit/day setting?

Postby Solfius » Sat Oct 09, 2004 2:15 pm

I noticed in the thread on putting different 0% attack info in a comment about wouldn't it be nice if 0% attacks did stop you attacking.

Perhaps it would be possible to hit people a number of times a day, but the total strength can't go over 100%

e.g

2 x 50% strikes
4 x 25% strikes
100 x 1% strikes (I seriously question if a person who does this has enough to do in a day! ;) )

It would then allow for waening strikes to be made, at lesser strength, but not stopping follow ups for the next day, and also helps if you accidently select a lower strength than you meant to, you can just top it up

I really like this idea

Hell of a lot of effort to program, that. So it won't be done, at least not for a while.

Nor do I think it;s a good idea.

Multiple attacks against animals, like two per day would be better but one a day inter-character attacks are fine.

Suggesting in a totally different direction...what if you could only make, say, 3 attacks (altogether) in a day. Or possible just 3 attacks against people. Some other number than 3 would be ok as well, I suppose.

It would make numbers a much, much bigger advantage in fighting.

Or combining the two, make it so you can only do a total of 300% worth of attacks in a day. Again, 300% is arbitrary.

I like that idea too

I disagree that it would be hard to do.

Likely all it would need is an expansion of the current variable that stores who has and hasn't attacked what to store the amount of force used against a target.

It doesn't result in an more attacks being made, in terms of force used against someone, because the maximum you can do in a day is 100%, but it means you don't have to do it all at once.
