leather ushanka

long-sleeved wool tunic

Image

a long-sleeved tunic made of warm wool cloth, covering down to the hips

- 550 grams of wool cloth
- 4 days
- needle, scissors

fur booties

Image

primitive footwear made out of pieces of animal pelts stitched together with sinew, the furry side worn on the inside for warmth

- 150 grams of fur, 10 grams of sinew
- 1.5 days
- needle, hide scraper, knife

wool lined boots

Image

a pair of sturdy leather boots, lined with soft wool cloth and laced up with string. They rise about a hand above the ankle and have deeply grooved rubber soles to provide traction

- 300 g of leather, 150 g of wool cloth, 100 g of rubber
- 2.5 days
- needle, knife, scissors

padded cotton jacket

a warm cotton jacket padded with fibres, descending past the hips. It's closed in front with a zipper and features two pockets and a wide hood

- 550 g cotton cloth, 500 g cotton fibres, 1 long zipper, 2 short zippers
- 4.5 days

I don't see an 'all of the above' option? There can never be too many clothes.

The poll allows you to choose all of them. Granted, separately, but I guess that makes it easier to tell which are the most popular items, etc.

Yay for more clothes

Though, I always pictured the fur hat we have now as ushanka thingy :P

I imagine the current fur hat as a cylindrical thing without earflaps.

For the ushanka, does it really need to say "when not needed"?

Not if it sounds awkward to you. I was thinking of different ways to put it.

I need to admit that it does.
I forgot to say though, I love all of these items. The more variety, the better.

Not like I could accept my own suggestions but the votes are looking positive.

Is it hard for someone else to move it to accepted? The votes are indeed very positive.

Yeah the 'when not needed' thing does sound a little odd. Isn't it just supposed to say basically what you see when you're looking at a character wearing it? If someone wanted to specifically wear it folded up I'm sure they could just mention that in their char description, I see people mention details like that about their outfits all the time.

If you just needed to stretch the description out a little, maybe something like 'A leather hat lined with warm fur with flaps on the sides to protect the ears.' Or something like that?

It's possible. I was mainly thinking that it's more common to see them with the earflaps folded up and tied together to keep them up. People only put the earflaps down when it's really cold.

Okay, that makes sense. I admit I've never actually seen anyone wear one of those except on TV.

Maybe a line added on then, like 'There is a leather cord tacked onto one side (or wherever) used to tie the earflaps back in warmer weather.

Of course, this being Cantr, if someone is wearing a hat with earflaps it's probably because that's the exact look they want. Tying them back could always be roleplayed if it mattered enough to someone to bother.
