Re: What if....
If shields were less prevalent, it'd be easier to drop someone to a NDS state. It would encourage people to clump around large towns, and leave smaller towns or travelers open to being attacked. Since it'd be easier to attack someone without having to first have the best weapons IG, a secure building or boat, etc., it'd be easier to mug someone without then being forced to kill them afterwards. And the more quickly you can drop someone to NDS state, the less identifying features you give away. Sure, they can instantly rename your character to "Stupid Butthole" and will forever remember who exactly you are regardless of the RP/situation, but that's something else entirely that would need to be dealt with, and there are ways to get around that.

I believe it would be easier, but I don't believe it would happen often enough compared to the being killed. Unless some mechanic change influenced it, what would happen if shields became less prevalent is that unwanted death rates would go up until shields became more prevalent again.Wolfsong wrote:If shields were less prevalent, it'd be easier to drop someone to a NDS state. What if Cantr II was all just a very good dream.
If the site, game and characters really didn't even exists. But, are a entities of our imagination.
If players would suddenly suffer from, insomnia... Would that explain the 'sleeping sickness' in our characters minds.

Re: What if....
What if every 90 days or so, players were required to submit a "character goal and development plan" to the game staff for review?
It wouldn't have to be anything elaborate, just enough to prove that the characters are being played and thought about.

Re: What if....
That would be good, but if a character didn't have a plan, they should be either killed or forced to assist someone nearby in completing their plan. Although if a person's plan is to delight others with their existence, that would be good enough for me.

I know a char who would probably have that exact plan.

Or if radios weren't always reliable, experiencing interference and the like on a fairly regular basis.

Too complicated. Let's just scrap radios completely. :3

What if towns looked unique instead of all the same? If different areas had different architecture.

It's very possible with building descriptions, if someone is willing to do the work. There's a certain town over on Fu that has VERY unique building structures. They were all designed by one character and "look" awesome.

I wonder why limestone can't be used as a building material. It's common in real life. But seeing that Cantr limestone is gathered with a shovel, it's probably all small pieces.

This would be great, actually! instead of having a hard distance limit, it would just start cutting out after a certain range, and you'd get random parts of a sentence replaced with ...'s.

Re: What if....
I would be thrilled if radios offered some way to identify someone speaking. Even better if there were some way to trace the signal. A complicated, expensive device that still required some calculation and guess work, similar to a sextant though maybe less accurate.
