Is my gathering correct?

I'm working on a mining project. I created the project at the tooled rate and have verified that I have the tool. My character is awkward at mining. I've been monitoring my progress and noticed that I'm only increasing my progress by 7.3% per tick. At that rate it will take 13.7 rounded up to 14 ticks. That only puts me two ticks off from two complete days.

That doesn't really sound incorrect to me, although it is one of the very low progresses I've heard of/seen. One of mine makes about 8.5% progress per hour at something she's awkward at. That makes 12 ticks. My expert on the same skill progresses by 18.1% per hour. 6 ticks, half the time.

In my experience a project takes about 50% longer than average when you are awkward at it. But it may even be a bit more than that when you are the worst of the worst at it.
Are all the other stats of your character ok? Tiredness and wounds do affect project progress.

Wasn't tired or damaged. Fairly hungry, but when i ate, that didn't change the number.
