We're all a little short on irl time in the Programming Department these days. However, from what data I see concerning the current 21 burying projects, Jos' suspicion is indeed correct. All the bodies you're currently burying have been spawned in Mianir, and have died because their owners' accounts don't exist any more, either because of them idling out or because the owners unsubscribed.
The reason why they haven't appeared on the list of people is, that characters only appear there when they have committed at least one active action.
An explanation for this to happen so frequently now is, that our mailing system has been down for a couple of days. That implied, that newly subscribed players never received their login information, thus never could log in, resulting in their accounts vanishing over time.
A reason why that happens so prominently in Mianir might be, that Cantr has been advertised on some spanish sites recently.
Currently, only 2 characters in Mianir are working on burying projects.
Anyway, since I agree, that it is a bit unfair to have a town swamped with such an influx of bodies, I'll exceptionally bury the bodies with my bare hands.
If my explanations are the only reasons for this phenomenon, I expect it to go away by itself. 'Programming a way around this' implies to change our approach to bodies principally. That will only happen if the curse of the bodies stays for weeks without an end in sight.
If it gets really bad again, complain again.
53 dead bodies in Mianir

Do you need more personnel for the programming departement?
I'd really like to join. (I wrote a mail to the departement about a month ago... but I never got any answer.

Holy racoon, 129 bodies. I buried them. Exceptionally. This is not going to be a standard service.
@Ashragon: We can always use help. We have some candidates in training already, and the training is delayed, because the 'senior' programmers are currently too busy to train the candidates...
Anyway, please resend your application. Getting no answer indicates that something went wrong. Normally, you should get a welcome message as an aspirant member, or a rejection notice. Send it to personnel@cantr.net.
