I miss it.

Why haven't you gotten it fixed?

I have to ask the same thing. Wipe the computer, install good anti-virus, web blockers etc and you'll be fine for years. Well at least three years or so, what it takes for a normal non-infected windows machine to make itself run extremely bad. (And this makes me gasp every time I think about it. How the h*** did they write that operating system to begin with?)

A good free solution to get rid of malware and such on your computer is malwarebytes, I use this all the time to clean up people's machines since it's effective and free.

It's all that free porn you've been downloading man, it's not really free in the end. You should download malwarebytes, it can be run without conflicting with your antivirus. Also, some free programs are notorious for sneaking added programs in when they are downloaded, some are bad some are just annoying. Certain toolbars are malicious(like conduit) like this, and practically all pop-up adds are. I would suggest going into your programs list and removing any unneeded programs and especially toolbars (like conduit for example). If you can't get one to uninstall download an uninstaller and cleaner like Revo Uninstaller, it will force remove such programs and clean your registries and folders of trace amounts of the programs. It might save you the trouble of having to do a wipe and reinstall.

One more thing, download and install adblocker for chrome or firefox, whichever you use. You'll never deal with an add again.

And then, don't forget to make sure you don't use it on Cantr, as those ads are there for a reason ;)

Exactly what I do! :D
I've had a few issues where ads have gotten past the filter, but there's a really easy way to get it to block them too, and the program will walk you through it, and I haven't had issues since.

There's a chat??

Actually, I knew there was a chat, but never really thought about it. I've never gone, because I'm told that nothing happens there anyway. a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy when I think about it.

It all started with an update to a program I thought was safe: Java.

But that stuck a toolbar on that I didn't notice was with the program and it just turned into a mess.
I will try the malware fixing program, thanks to all that suggested it.

Be well

Yes, java sneaks the ask toolbar in there at the end of the user agreement, so if you don't scroll down to the end and uncheck the box, it'll install it with the update. Very underhanded. Because of them, I now scroll to the end of every agreement before accepting.

Many big software companies are playing games like that now. Some are actually really clever. They still haven't figured out a way to stop me from uninstalling though and removing leftover files manually.
